I really like this garage door opener. The only downside was there was not much documentation on the installation side. However a quick purview of YouTube found a nice installation video. It was a little longer than my previous opener which required me to put up new mounts on the ceiling. Other than that it was a smooth install. The opener was very easy to connect to the houses wifi and the phone app works flawlessly. It is quiet and smooth. A very nice opener for the money.

I had a liftmaster garage opener that came with house that stopped working properly, basically only works with hardwired wall switch and not with keypad or remote. Garage company said its cause motherboard went bad. They quoted high price. So i bought this one for good price and decided to install it myself especially since i had a new liftmaster opener on my second garage with MyQ app, which this also had. My intentions was to just swap the opener with new one and it worked! As i was able to take the old one out put the new opener in using existing rails and chains and it worked good. Initially wen button pressed it was 'clicking' only& not opening but turns out, directions were not clear on first having to set your close/open range, using buttons on the back of opener so once that was done it worked. The other changes i did was the wall button, sensor and outside keypad which was fairly easy. If you thinking about swapping, fyi wires maybe different color on existing one but as long as you match the same wires for new connection, it shud be ok. Ill put new wiring & old wiring photo. So far so good.

I replaced a 20 year old 1/3HP LiftMaster with this model. I love it. The camera is aimed perfectly, the remote open from my cell phone app so perfect for us, user profiles for wife and kids is great. The notifications on when the garage is open and closed is great. The live video with MIC and speakers is fantastic. Be investment ever. Oh, and it is way more quite than the original. I didn't need to get the belt version. This was a DIY and i only replaced the motor, sensors, and wall switch the rest of my old garage guide and chain worked fine.

I received the Chamberlain C2405 garage door opener on Jan. 20,2026. The garage door opener product box was in very good shape but the shipping box was not. The shipping box was blown open on one end and the tape on the top not stuck on. The box was over sized with no packing material at all. The product box looked OK and it is installed and working great. It took all afternoon to install with programing buttons, outside control and vehicle car control button. The open/close control was easy to set for the door. The opener itself is great, the packaging was terrible. I am sure that the product box was not in the shipping box most of the time while in shipment truck. They need to do better. Watch the Chambelain video, this makes the process easy.

I replaced a 15 year old 1/2 hp Chamberlain LiftMaster chain drive motor unit, with this one. I purchased the unit from Amazon, and had a local garage door company install for a nominal fee. (I didn't feel comfortable replacing the motor unit myself) So, I can't speak to the ease of installation, or replacement installation... other than to say, it only took 30 minutes for the local garage door company's technician to replace the new Chamberlain motor unit + interior wall mounted controller + exterior keypad, & also programmed the new car remotes/controllers. All in 30 minutes. As part of that installation, the local technician used my existing single one-piece rail & full chain system, that was already in place from my older unit. He just replaced the motor unit as part of the assembly. Which brings me to my 2 star rating for "sturdiness" -- Before replacing only the motor unit, he explained to me that this newer unit... while it *does* come with a rail and a chain system in the box... the new unit rail is not a single, one-piece rail (obviously, based on the box size)... it's a rail system comprised of 5 attaching parts. Which could be more prone to failure, than a single one-piece rail system. Additionally, the chain that came with this new unit is a 80/20 chain system. It's about 80% of actual chain, and the other 20% is tied together with a steel thread. Which obviously is not as strong/resilient as a full chain system. The technician literally told me: "Your existing single piece rail & single piece chain will have a longer life than this new motor unit you just bought." For that reason... for "sturdiness" of the overall product, I ranked 2 stars. As for the motor unit itself... I am very pleased with it. - Installation was a breeze, if you're replacing an existing 1/2 hp Chamberlain LiftMaster motor unit. - It is MUCH more quiet than the previous generation of Chamberlain LiftMaster motor units. - This model has two lights, as opposed to a single light in my previous Chamberlain unit. It makes a world of difference. - The myQ app that works with your home's wifi is for the most part, very good. You can control open/close of the garage door from anywhere, and you can setup alerts on your smartphone to notify you anytime the garage door is opened/closed. You can even add "guests" to the myQ mobile app, so they can open/close your garage door... say, if you're out of town & they're taking care of your house/pets/etc That said about the myQ wifi app, some "drawbacks" that I've noticed about the myQ wifi app: 1. The myQ app does not have a function to turn on the motor unit's lights, nor engage the "lock" function of the motor unit... from the app (as you would using the interior wall mounted controller) 2. The myQ app is VERY persistent about suggesting you to setup your wifi controlled garage door opener, to allow for Amazon deliveries. In the initial setup to connect the unit to your wifi, the phone app will say "setup complete" and then take you a screen that prompts to allow for Amazon deliveries, for Prime members. You have to close out of the app setup to decline allowing Amazon delivery access, without knowing whether it really is completed (it is). Some other notes: - This newer unit uses a different frequency than the older generation(s) of Chamberlain LiftMaster units. Expect to need: new car remotes, new interior wall mounted controller, new exterior keypad. Although our Chamberlain universal car remotes we bought 5 years ago from a local hardware store, they could still be programmed to control this new unit. - While the pictures of the interior wall mounted controller doesn't show it, the interior wall mounted controller DOES include a "lock" function (hidden under the fold-up open/close button), as well as a "light" function All in all, I am very pleased with this new Chamberlain LiftMaster unit.

Ease of installation came everything in the box with easy instructions, it requires 2 person install but I did it myself alone, replaced my original old chamberlain garage door opener it’s weak and loud and noisy stopped working, after installation made my garage door “smarter” it had Wi-Fi connection and connects to the app with no subscription and using free *Amazon key* feature that drops off your packages at your garage instead front door *to prevent porch pirates* when you’re not home, bought it at a lower price.. worth it if you wanna replace your old cranky garage door…. Also quieter after installation..
