Description

The Cync Smart Plug makes any lamp or device that plugs into a wall smart. The built-in Wi-Fi bridge adds out-of-home control for your lighting and devices and voice control when paired with a voice assistant. The plug also enables scheduling and scene setting to traditional bulbs and devices. The Smart Plug adds smart functionality to fixtures where smart bulbs won't fit or match the look of the fixture. Pair the Smart Plug with Cync or C by GE Smart Bulbs in other fixtures and Smart Switches to control all your lights together. Use the Smart Plug with other devices like curling irons, fans and electronic devices to turn them on or off remotely or schedule them to operate around your routine. The Smart Plug connects directly with Google Home and Amazon Alexa devices without a hub required. Simply plug into a standard wall socket and you're ready to go.

  • Easy to install, some connection issues
Size: 1 Plug
Got this to control a heater panel in the bathroom. As expected, it was very easy to set up and seamlessly connected to the Echo Dot ~10 ft away in the bedroom. Only dinging it a star because there is a very infrequent connection drop that’s probably due to limitations of Bluetooth (and usually resolves itself quickly), but still annoying when it happens. ... show more

  • Cool little gadget.
Size: 1 Plug
I have lived in the middle of nowhere in the woods for the past ten years. I have struggled with no internet because of such a rural location. The last week of November I was finally able to get some real internet installed. I was doing some cyber Monday shopping when I saw the ad for the echo dot $0.99 deal. Some friends have echo products. I always thought they were neat. But I never had good enough internet to justify purchasing one. With this new fiber optic connection and a can't pass up price of under a buck. I jumped on the deal. After my echo dot arrived. I played around with it until I ran out of things for it to do. Reminders, timers and alarms were set. Shopping lists made. Listened to music on it until I was bored. A friend who as Alexa automation in their home dropped by. He noticed my new dot asked if I had any smart devices to go with it yet. No, I replied. Well that kicked him into high gear and moments later we were on Amazon shopping lol. I put all kinds of Alexa controllable and compatible stuff in my cart. It had just started turning dark. I got up to turn on the lamp and Christmas tree. That's when it happened. I won't bore you any more than I already have telling you this story. But I have some health problems. It was when I got up. Limping, moaning and groaning. That my friend suggested that I also buy smart plugs. I opted for smart bulbs for the lamps and light fixtures. But saw a real use for the plugs for other items. Like the Christmas tree, coffee pot etc. The moment the plugs arrived I immediately went into install mode. Per the instructions I downloaded and signed up on the cync app. Linked cync to Alexa. Unplugged my tree. Plugged the smart plug in. Plugged the tree into the smart plug. Hit the sync button on the plug and told Alexa to find new devices. A few moments later. Alexa had found the new smart plug. She even offered some sample commands for me to try on it. They all worked. Alexa auto named the plug "first plug". I didn't like saying that. I wanted to say the name of the item the plug was controlling. Alexa, turn off Christmas tree etc. So I edited the name of the plug in the Alexa app to correspond to whatever it was controlling. I created several routines to include the new plugs. Now when I get up in the morning I say "Alexa, good morning". The Christmas tree comes on, the coffee pot starts making coffee, the small fan on my end table comes on. That's as far as I have gotten so far with the plugs. The plug is solid. Well constructed. Easy to install. A breeze to integrate with Alexa. While it might be a little more expensive than others floating around Amazon. It is GE. HOW can you go wrong when dealing with electricity by using a certified GE product? You can't. Nothing but pro's from me about this product with the exception that might be a possible con for some folks. It makes an audible "click" when it comes on and goes off. I however do like the fact that it has a REAL internal relay doing the work. After a few days I didn't even hear the click anymore. If you want a legit product. From a legit and well known company in the electricity field. Get these plugs. ... show more

  • works well, install long

  • Easiest to install and it just works....flawlessly
Size: 1 Plug
This is for the GE CYNC Indoor Smart Plug, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Outlet Socket. This was setup on Amazon's Alexa using the latest version of the Dot, which was located about 12 feet from the GE Plug. I selected "auto setup with Alexa" (or something similar) on checkout. Once I received it, I took it out of the box, took the wrapping off and simply plugged it in. Done. It showed up in my Alexa App on my phone and said it was connected via the Dot. I then created a "smart home" routine for it (auto timer) for the light that it was connected to. It took about 5 minutes from taking it out of the box to finished with the routine, saved about $30 from the other leading brand, only cost about ten bucks, and I didn't need to download any App. I was worried that it wouldn't work from some of the negative reviews. But it worked on my setup (see first paragraph)....flawlessly. ... show more

  • No problems
Size: 1 Plug
I’ve personally have not had any major problems with it. I’ve gotten a few of these about 3 and have had them for a good couple of months now. I use them for my aquatic’s lights & heating lamp every single day. Over the holidays when I’m away from home they still work. (I have a camera in the aquatic room) these never fail me! Only thing is that if you have a few they can slow down your WiFi. I have 1TB- I had 5 of these at first but had to go down to using only 3 because having 5 made my WiFi slow. ... show more

So far these are great plugs! The app seems to be updated pretty regularly and the Alexa integration has been seamless so far. I find that there is a lot of possibility for customization if you take the time to learn how the app works. I have a few Cync plugs, sensors, and bulbs mixed into my smart home setup and the most tech maintenance I’ve ever had to do is a power cycle when my internet was spotty. ... show more

  • Easy and works! I'm a fan!
Size: 1 Plug
Right out of the package, I plugged it in and had no issues. Just had to be patient for a few minutes while it connected, plugged in my fan (making sure it was on) then went into my Alexa app and labeled it. Now i can verbally (or manually with app) shut my fan on/off from any Alexa device. I am a person who sleeps with a fan every night to help me sleep - i can't sleep without one. It is great to control it verbally when it is cold or if i just want to turn it on briefly for air circulation. I have even shut it off from other rooms. i never thought it would be used daily and will certainly buy more smart plugs in the future. ... show more
