These bulbs replaced a bunch of defunct Wink brand units that were no longer supported by the mfgr and echo! Once pared up they operate as expected! However after 3 years and a new router, they are no longer compatible with newer 2.4 Gh WiFi standards and will not pair to any new router

We are users of the GE Plugs, which have worked pretty well, so I decided to add two of the light bulbs to our front porch. One light connected to WIFI (four WIFI bars at that location) after some effort. It keeps popping up as unavailable, then available, etc, turning off the timer routine we set for the light. The second one is 20 feet from the first (three WIFI bars at that location) could never connect to the WIFI. It kept timing out. I am guessing the wifi radios are pretty cheap, contributing to the problem. Going to look at Phillips Hue as I hear they connect better. I contacted CYNC help (via telephone) and they were very helpful getting the lights working. All work as advertised now-we will definitely purchase again. ... show more

So easy to install, screw it in, Alexa automatically finds it once you turn blue tooth on. Then the ONLY CON you have to turn off EACH INDIVIDUAL LIGHTBULB. Say you put 4 in your kitchen ceiling fan light be prepared to tell Alexa turn off all kitchen fan lights, unless you want 3 off then say whatever you rename them.. Also major Con NOT INTENDED FOR PREVIOUS DIMMABLE FIXTURE LIGHTS. THEY WILL NOT WORK AND MAY CAUSE FIRE. so if you are new to everything like me....... Research first. I'm writing this to help other first timers who don't know anything about electronics lol I'm watching all the videos on you tube and reading all about Alexa on the site. I bought smart plugs and a lighting hue when I didn't even need them lol. Just needed high speed internet. But you need a Phillips hue for the lightbulbs that come with the echo dot new gen ....... These "smart" bulbs drop their Internet connection more than a dozen times per day, repeatedly going on at random times throughout the day and night, contrary to the "schedule" they're supposed to be on via the Cync app. NONE of my other "smart" gadgets lose their connectivity, making it certain that neither my Internet provider nor the wifi router are the culprit. That being said, these bulbs are worthless, as all four of them that came in the 4-pack do the exact same thing. For $35 and the GE brand name, one would expect a product that actually works. 600 lumens is not enough. I have two floor lamps that provide the majority of the lighting in my living room and 600 lumens per bulb is nowhere near enough to comfortably light the space. I wish GE would offer a 1000+ lumen bulb.

These are great lightbulbs that you can connect through Wi-Fi to your app on your phone to allow you to control them remotely. Works great for your light across the room in your master suite or turning your garage lights off and on that are out of reach. I highly recommend.
