Free McBoot PS2 Memory Card for the Sony Playstation2 (PS2) This is a Brand-New PS2 Memory Card which has only been opened to install the custom software free McBoot (FMCB). This is not a ps1 memory card! This is strictly for use on the PS2! Each Sony memory card are packaged and sealed in anti-static PS2 memory card bags, designed specifically for shipping our Kaico PlayStation card to prevent damage whilst in transit. All installs are 'multi-regional FMCB Free Mcboot 1.966' and therefore work on both PAL/NTSC consoles from ANY country. Easiest way to get FreeMcBoot and home brew on a PS2. The card was plug and play, and it was worth the money to not futz about with disc swapping and all that. I believe there are simple ways to make a FreeMcB card yourself, but buying this one does all that trouble and gives you a dedicated memory card for it. No issues in the year+ I’ve owned this. This is plug and play it's great. Might be a little pricy but it's ok. I was going to fully mod my ps2 but my package got stolen and amazon did corporate b.s. and wouldn't reimburse me. So, I lost 120 dollars so I am not very happy. Advice buy off of ebay, or make sure shipping provider is usps. Someone who knows or is willing to drop at a safe room. ... show more

Works perfectly on my 30001 series "Phat" PS2. I was concerned about preserving my humble collection of PS2 games as well as the hardware itself, as the laser units don't last forever. This allowed me to dump my BIOS for use with an emulator, as well as install an old 250GB 2.5" HDD using this SATA adapter designed specifically for the PS2: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JFPSZJP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Now all my games run from the HDD and the discs are safely stored away. PROS: Reasonable price. Has all the applications you'll need for homebrew, BIOS dumping, file management, and running your ISO files from a HDD instead of using the original game DVDs - preserving your games and hardware. CONS: (All minor, in my opinion) Comes with uLaunchELF which is older and no longer developed - wLaunchElf is the more current fork. Has an older version of OPL also. Generic 8MB MC, not a genuine Sony card, nor is it "Magic Gate" certified. The cons are not significant in my opinion. Although older, both uLanchELF and OPL worked fine and allowed me to achieve my goals as described above. You can pretty easily update all these applications if there are features/functions that you need for other, more involved tasks. I've read a lot of comments about the cheap, generic MCs simply not working, but so far this MC is working fine. I'm not writing to it, just reading, so that should increase longevity. Besides, I can just create my own FreeMcBoot MC on a higher-quality MC now if I felt it was necessary (which I don't). Definitely well worth the price and performed flawlessly. If you're looking for a quality Soft-Mod FreeMcBoot, this is it. Cheers! ... show more
