GE Advanced Silicone 2 Kitchen and Bath sealant is a high-performance, 100% silicone and 100% waterproof sealant ideal for areas prone to water exposure. GE Advanced Silicone 2 Kitchen and Bath sealant is permanently flexible with 40% more flexibility than Class 25 sealants and has 5X stronger adhesion than our Silicone 1 sealant. It will not discolor most high-end metal finishes such as chrome, bronze, and nickel. This sealant also has a low odor while curing thanks to its neutral-cure formula. Good consistency. Easy to apply. Very bright white. The natural water resistance of silicone makes it harder to clean up when it’s wet, but it’s this same feature which makes it ideal for bathroom and kitchen applications. It’s easier to clean when dry. Either by carefully cutting edges with a utility knife or by rubbing and easily peeling stray drops and smudges. It was also easy to peel it off application tools after it dried. We applied it using painters tape and pulled up the tape after application (before it had a chance to dry). This worked really well for creating nice, clean lines. For thicker applications, it does get tacky if you mess with it too much for too long. We ended up with some bumpy texture. It’s probably better to apply it thicker in those areas and then carefully use a blade to remove the excess on the following day in order to end up with a smooth, level surface. The GE brand of clear silicone was easy to apply, truly clear, dried quickly and had no odor. Nice adhesion and seal for my window and so glad to have found this product. I had a fairly new tube of "clear" caulking from Ace from a previous project and tried it before finding this one. It was horrible. First, the Ace caulking wasn't really clear at all and even left over night, hadn't dried. I was able to wipe off the Ace stuff with a paper towel. Never again. I just moved into my place well within a few hrs I seen a few roaches coming from the floor cracks. So I thought of trying this i put it all around the floor walls all around my place. It really works good and has kept roaches from coming in from the tiny lil cracks. I fumigated and used this now there gone worked good for what I needed it for.     • Important Things to Know Before Purchasing So You're Prepared

A few tips or things to note before you buy this to be aware of: 1) It needs to dry (be free of water) for 24 hours after you apply it. Plan showering/bathing accordingly. 2) You need to puncture a foil seal inside the top of the tube AFTER you cut the tip of the plastic casing. Otherwise, it will not work. 3) It's sticky and a bit messy - the label says to use mineral spirits to clean things afterwards. I tried to only use soap to clean my hands afterward (washed them three times) and they still felt like there was a film on them from the caulk. And I wore latex gloves to apply the caulk! This was just a tiny bit of residue after clean up and it was hard to get completely off with soap. Not a reason not to buy it - just some things to be aware of. ... show more
