  • High quality and fully functional.
Style: 6,000 BTU (2026 Edition)
My old air conditioner broke down, and after seeing this Midea smart air conditioner, I immediately ordered it. It proved to be a very good choice; the quality is excellent. The unit comes with a stand, making installation very convenient. The U-shaped design saves space, and most importantly, the machine runs very quietly and distributes air evenly. It also comes with a portable remote control, so I don't have to get up in the middle of the night to operate it. This is fantastic for me. One thing I especially recommend is the mobile app. I can pre-set it to start running before I get home, so the room cools down quickly. It also continuously monitors my usage. I will definitely recommend this product to my friends. ... show more

  • Best Smart AC On The Market. Simple Home Assistant Integration.
Style: 6,000 BTU (2026 Edition)
I specifically purchased these for the smart control. We have central air but my three kids complain constantly that its hot in their rooms. So I bought each of them one of these. They make the room cold in minutes. They are ultra quiet. They dont block up a lot of the window so you can still see out of them. I use them in Home Assistant and they work perfectly. My kids would leave them running 24/7, so when Home Assistant sees that one of them left the house it turns it off and when they get home it turns it back on. The only thing I'll say is the installation of these is a little different. By the second one I got it, but I had to watch the video multiple times. I found that other people's videos were way clearer and explained more than the one that Midea put out. Overall I love these and would absolutely purchase again. ... show more

  • It is expensive but ultimately worth the price.
Style: 6,000 BTU (2026 Edition)
Before I purchased this machine about 4 days ago I had an 8000 BTU machine in the same room I'm glad they finally came out with a 6000 BTU machine which is a better size for the room I have it in. My other machine was part of the recall that involved the drain pan becoming moldy I'm glad that they finally addressed that with the drain plugs that they install on the new units a quick note about that though if you live in a really humid environment like the Midwest I would actually recommend taking the drain plug out pushing the little fiber core the white thing out of the bottom of it which is relatively easy to do and then reinstalling the rubber bung with the open hole in the bottom of it that'll keep the drain tray of the machine from rusting around the edges of the hole but it'll allow all of the excess moisture to drain. Noise level, it's not loud at all in fact compared to my 8000 BTU version from 2022 it's virtually silent they fixed the inverter wine that the old one used to make which is a much welcomed upgrade you can't hear the compressor start and stop nearly as clearly as you could with the older unit which I consider to be a benefit from the outside the condenser fan can occasionally get a little loud but loud in the sense that it sounds like someone running a table fan near you still generally a very quiet machine. I do like that they added a flash cool button to the front of the machine which for all intensive purposes does the same thing as the boost mode in my opinion it allows the machine to overclock its compressor to 7200 to 7400 BTU which does consume extra power but can take the edge off of the heat in a room rather quickly. The big deal here is that button means you no longer need to log into the app to use the machines boost mode feature the app does still give you the ability to control the fan speed much more accurately between 0 and 100% in steps instead of just three basic speeds and Auto and it allows you to monitor the energy consumption of the machine and check the outdoor temperature at the unit itself which I find to be more accurate than the local weather app but it can be affected by the Sun. My only real complaint about this machine is the price point for 6,000 BTU $370 is pretty steep but it's more efficient than other machines buy a good margin it does have some very smart features and it is a unique design so I can forgive it for the price. Helpful tips, I recommend having two people to lift the machine and put it in the window getting it out of the curtain by yourself is possible but is exceedingly difficult if you're not super strong I recommend lifting it from the larger end that has the condenser and compressor inside because it's made entirely of metal on that end the other side is made of plastic and I don't think it could hold the weight of the machine if you tried lifting it from there, the only tools you'll need for the installation is a pair of scissors though you can tear the insulation foam by hand if you really needed to a serrated kitchen knife for cutting the foam block side panels down to the right size and a Philips head screwdriver it's a pretty simple install it'll take about 25 minutes if you're putting it in an empty window and in my case only took about 3 minutes of time to install because I was placing it where the 8000 BTU machine was sitting on the same bracket, all of the machines in the u-shaped lineup use the same cabinet size and they will all sit on the same size bracket so swapping one for another is a pretty quick affair. I see a lot of comments complaining about rattling if your unit is rattling I recommend pulling the two little plastic locking tabs on the back of the indoor unit out so that they're touching the window and then try to gently pull the indoor side of the machine forward just a bit while lifting those plastic tabs out one extra click this preloads them against the window and keeps them from rattling against it constantly. To help seal out some drafts I would recommend going to Walmart and finding either foil tape or a duct tape color that closely matches the color of your window sill and sealing around the foam blocks wherever they touch the bottom and side of the window sash layering them so that the bottom of one strip sits over the top of the one beneath it this helps shed water away from the window and keeps drafts from blowing around the edges of the foam blocks and if it's done correctly it can actually look pretty clean. ... show more

  • Mandatory for menopausal women.
Style: 6,000 BTU (2026 Edition)
I had a small, portable room cooler that was loud, heavy, and in the way. I get hot flashes, and that keeps me awake at night. A loud AC also prevented me from sleeping, so I wasn't using it. The whole house was being held hostage by my temperature surges. I saw a video about this unit being efficient and quiet, and bought it immediately. I scheduled a guy to help me install it because it weighs 50lbs and it is awkward. He did not read the instructions. I did. We spent 2 hours fighting over how to get it into position like a pair of cats in a bag. Tip: Put the weather stripping down in the bottom window channel first. Then bolt the rack to the unit. THEN put it in the window and adjust the bracket arms. Only after that, start putting in the side foam. I didn't like the side foam. There isn't enough foam to fit a 21 inch unit into a 36 inch window. Other than that, it comes with all the hardware needed. I had my guy measure and cut a plank of wood, weather strip it, paint it, and it looks awesome. Or it would, if he would come back and finish the job. I'm here enjoying my new AC and BOB won't come paint my plank. The U shape keeps the noise outside. It whispers cool air over my bed like an angel made from ice. I adjusted the curtains and even cut a slit in one drape. The unit looks like it is floating in front of the drape! It is so efficient, I have it set to 80 during the day and night. I haven't touched the house thermostat in days. I'm so happy, I could sing about it while dancing with bunnies and sparrows. It doesn't leak. Or maybe it does. I'm in the desert. Leaks here just evaporate. ... show more

  • Nice and quiet
Style: 6,000 BTU (2026 Edition)
Got this for my kitchen and it works great. It cools down the space pretty fast, even when I’m cooking, and it’s much quieter than I expected.Installation took a bit of time, but it wasn’t too difficult and feels secure once set up. I also like the design — it looks cleaner than older window units and doesn’t feel as bulky.Love that it comes with a remote and app control too, makes it really easy to adjust settings without getting up. The controls are pretty straightforward and easy to figure out, and switching modes is quick.Airflow feels strong and consistent, and it does a good job keeping the temperature stable. It also doesn’t shake or make weird noises like some older units I’ve used before.I’ve been using it for a few days now and it’s been working really well so far. ... show more

  • Better than the rest, insanely quiet
Style: 6,000 BTU (2026 Edition)
Once installed, it’s immediately clear, this is the best you can get for a window unit, the cooling is excellent and I’m still in awe of how quiet it is. This is a modern design. Unfortunately, I have windows that don’t fit the instructions - they aren’t “flat” or “lip” (the options in the instructions), instead they have a drop and then are sort of slanted. They’re also 2 inches longer than the anti-tip rails and foam pieces would accomodate. I made do, and, all things considered, it wasn’t as difficult or frustrating as it could have been. The design seemed to account for an off-the-beaten-path installation, only really requiring a 5 inch metal bracket to be in the center of the window. It’s better than all of the rest, why not 5 stars? - It would be better if it accommodated windows that are a few inches wider, by including additional hard foam pieces. 3-4 inches square space is not great to seal with soft foam. Also, the anti-tip rails should be at least 2” longer on each side. - It would be better if they Included an optional taller bracket (similar height to the “lock” bracket, but full length, like the bracket intended for use) So basically, support windows that are a little wider, and windows that have the opposite of a lip, like mine - they’re flat, then drop 1/2” to another flat surface. ... show more

  • So much more efficient than non invertor units
Style: 6,000 BTU (2026 Edition)
We have central air in our house but we have one single window ac for the bedroom so we don't cool the entire house at night. We have had multiple window units which have all been loud power hogs that clunk every time they turn on and off, dimming the lights in the room. This unit is silent. There is the faint whisper of the fan but honestly the ceiling fan makes more noise. It was a breeze to install and lets you open the window if you want blah blah blah ... You know why you are buying a u shaped window unit and this ac covers all those needs. Here is the best part. This unit is using an invertor which means it sips electricity and quietly ramps up and down based on need. It's so economical to run I considered buying a few more and not running our central air anymore. We have a whole house energy monitor and when you turn this on you can see it gently ramp up power usage and then gently ramp back down as it cools the room. Our old window units would slam to life and pull 500 watts the whole time until it slammed off. This unit is so much more efficient. ... show more
