My sister has a 3-inch chipper, which I found frustrating to use — the small opening made it hard to feed branches in, and I was exhausted from all the ramming and jamming after just 10 minutes. This machine, however, is a beast. It has at least a 3-inch opening, so branches go in easily and are mostly self-feeding. It handles 2 to 2.5-inch branches without slowing down. Larger ones need to be held back a bit.

This is a well-designed and robust machine. Assembly was straightforward, the engine started on the first pull, and it has plenty of power. It's perfect for processing 1-2 inch material, making it ideal for garden mulch and fall cleanup.

Well-packed and easy to assemble. Perfect for processing branches up to 2.5 inches into mulch. Handles spring cleanup well, though wet wood may cause clogs.
