  • Great for the price!

Versatile Metal Frame Coop – Perfect for Supervised Scratch Time If you are looking for a cost-effective way to give your flock some extra room to roam, this metal frame chicken coop is a solid investment. While it has some limitations as a primary high-security enclosure, it shines as a functional, modular addition to an existing setup. The biggest selling point here is the value for money. Finding a large, structural footprint at this price point is difficult, and it provides a great skeleton for a custom poultry space. **Assembly is straightforward** and surprisingly easy; the frame pieces click together logically, and the overall structure is lightweight enough to maneuver into place without a massive team. **Wire Quality and Security** It is important to manage expectations regarding the included mesh. The unit comes with basic coated chicken wire, which is fine for keeping chickens in, but it isn't designed to stop determined predators like raccoons or foxes. Recommendation: If you plan on using this as your primary, permanent run, you should definitely plan to reinforce it with hardware cloth at least along the bottom few feet. **A Quick Pro-Tip: Bring Extra Zip Ties** I’ll echo what many other reviewers have said: the kit is a bit stingy with the fasteners. The provided zip ties will get you started, but they aren't enough to get the wire as tight as it needs to be. I suggest making a quick $12 purchase at Home Depot for a large pack of heavy-duty UV-resistant zip ties. It makes the final product much more rigid and secure. **The Perfect Daytime Extension** My specific use case for this coop is as a daytime run extension. I use it when I'm home to give the birds some additional scratch area and fresh grass beyond their main quarters. To make it permanent, I connected it to the main coop and primary run using a hardware cloth covered tunnel (still need to attach a door). This allows the chickens to move back and forth safely while keeping the setup flexible. For a "recreational" area that gives your birds more space to be birds without breaking the bank, this frame is an excellent choice. ... show more

  • Happy with purchase
ONLY thing is the door latch is 💩. Wind blowing bent the metal on the latch. Had a latch from a different coop y just put that on it. Easy to put together. Ordered larger stakes to hold it down as what comes with wouldn’t do it-but that is same with anything I’ve bought. Pleased

  • Great run for chickens
be prepared for it to take you literally hours to put together and make sure that you pull on the chicken wire and do not space the zip ties more than 3 inches apart. otherwise be prepared to have a chicken or two disappear 😭 Other than that, it really was pretty self-explanatory very easy to put together. The directions are very clear. ... show more

  • Decent Value for size
This is a decent size for a semi-permanent structure. It is fairly easy to assemble but not as durable as I had hoped. I like that it has a top roof and full sized door, but this is not the best structure for windy property, like mine. It can definitely keep chickens in, but it may not keep predators out. For the size, it's a decent budget chicken run, but it might be worth it to be a little extra for something sturdier. ... show more

  • Great for gardens!
So while most people are using this to protect their chickens, I’m over here using it to protect my garden from mine. 😄 And not just the chickens, also squirrels, birds, bunnies, and the occasional cat. For what I needed, this actually works out really well. I was able to fit an 8 ft raised bed along the back and a 4 ft bed on each side, giving me 16 ft of garden space, plus room for a few extra planters around the front of the beds. Now… I won’t sugarcoat it, this was a bit of a pain to put together. The instructions are just okay. I had an issue with the stabilizers not reaching the holes on the front pipes. Thought I messed something up, had my son-in-law doubl check, and everything looked right. Turns out, flipping them around fixed it. The difference is so slight you can’t even tell by looking, so a small marking or notch would’ve saved some time and frustration. Also, the pictures make it look like the top of the stabilizers go on the inside corners, but that’s not actually possible, so I put one inside and one on the outside. One of the bottom corner pieces had a hole on the wrong side, so we had to drill one ourselves to make it work. Not a huge deal, but definitely worth mentioning. The included stakes are a bit flimsy too, if you plan on using the tarp, I’d recommend upgrading those. The wire was probably the most tedious part. It’s pretty thin and not the easiest to work with. I definitely needed help for that step. Even pulled tight, it still feels a little floppy, but for my purpose (keeping critters out, not keeping animals in), it does the job. The long single wire wrapped around the roll actually came in handy for “sewing” the overlap together. We still used some zip ties here and there, but waste not, want not! Overall, not a bad setup for the price. Would I trust it as a full-time chicken run? Probably not. Maybe during the day just to let them switch things up a bit, but I wouldn’t rely on it for protection long-term. As far as time goes, it took me about an hour and a half to get all the pipes unpacked and assembled, and then about 2.5 hours for the wire. So just over 4 hours total. ... show more
