I have been metal detecting off and on for over 40 Years. I’ve owned multiple detectors including pro-line models. I bought this to use at the gulf beaches at the vaca/retirement home so i didn’thave to Keep transporting my others every trip. This new model with the new frequency does perfect on these beaches. It has immensely reduce mineralization false alerts so much that when it alerts. I don’t get mineralization alerts until I get to the waterline, then I just turn around and head back up. Sue to this accuracy, I always know I'm finding a real item at the depth it says. I found a dime at about 10” and an airplane rivit at over 8”. This 11” DD search coil is spot on with faster swings, acurate pinpointing and item identification. I have found so many coins with this in way less time than my Pro level Detector.     • Has different modes. Good for Beginners like me
I like the accuracy. If you are getting hits from different items you can learn and pick and choose what to dig up. I like the coin function. Very pleased and no false indications. This machine will let you know what you have found prior to digging-once you learn the different sounds and tones for different items. Iron mode is a great feature as well ... show more

It is a nice set up but it takes a little time to learn how to use it. It is not real clear on the depth of anything that the device alerts on. You really need to know what type of material you are looking for and how deep it might be. You have to keep anything metal way far away from the detector or it will pick it up. ... show more

Found my lost gold ring fast!!!!!! Two weeks searching with a cheap metal detector, I set the detector to jewelry setting, Two minutes searching with this Garrett ACE 400 Metal Detector and it was found!!!!! Super happy!!!! Lost the ring filling hay bags in my horse barn and found the ring at the top of manure pile!!!!! So happy with this.     • It knows what you don't know yet!
So I took the Ace 400 to the beach, through some change around and found it. But I took it to the park, to a area that looked like the spot. Not knowing what items would also read as coins. So I went through the list put in on ALL alloys w/IRON on. It beeped and said 10+in. I figured out finally Sprinkler pipes. Now I'm ready, start and BEEPING @2in reads penny. Dig and it's a penny. 2 more targets and spot on change is all over the place. LONG STORRY SHORT. It Worked better then I was thinking and it knows I'm a beginner because ,well I recommend you get one and you will know why. Don't know how else to say it.
