  • Works great, is small and simple
Style: Dash Cam Mini 2
I decided to take a risk with a refurbished model instead of new because it was a decent bit cheaper, and I'm quite impressed. The dashcam looks and works like new. Very easy to set up and use. Video and picture quality isn't the best but it's good enough to make out some details and isn't too bad overall. The view angle is very wide, so there's a lot to see in the shot. ... show more

  • Perfect low profile dash cam
Style: Dash Cam Mini 2
I have been searching for the perfect dash cam to protect myself in case of an accident. I have looked high and low for a suitable cam, but all the ones I found seemed to be big and clunky, and I was worried about someone breaking in to my truck just to steal the dash cam. The Garmin Mini Dash cam2 was the perfect size and had all the features I wanted. To start with, this cam is very small and when mounted, you have to really look to see it. It takes outstanding video in Hi-Def, and I paired it with a 128GB Micro SDXC card, so I know I have plenty of space to record. I also installed a Dongar direct connect adaptor, so I plug the power in to the power outlet of my rear-view mirror (yes, I didn't know that was there either). This means you don't have to have an unsightly power cable or the headaches of trying to tuck the cord around the perimeter of the windshield. There isn't a screen on this cam since it is so small, but you can easily pair your Mini Cam2 with your phone via the Garmin app. The video will stun you with the definition and quality of the video. ... show more

  • App is a little finiky
Style: Dash Cam Mini 2
I use a Pixel 7 Pro which definitely has an issue connecting to the app. The camera itself is very very very good quality and when you remove the sim card and put it into your computer there are no problems. The problem I had was viewing videos in the app. It takes ages to load almost 15 mins. Setting up the camera was easy though. It also sends notifications when parking mode is engaged. However, if I just grab something from my car and don't start it, parking mode gets set off. other than these hiccups it's a good camera ... show more

  • Small and powerful dashcam
Style: Dash Cam Mini 2
When my daughter started driving I became more conscious and aware of the need of having a dashcam so all of a sudden I was in the market for 3 dashcams. After intense review and understanding our needs, I went for this one. A simple yet reliable cam that could provide info for the insurance in case anything happened. I couldn't be happier with the decision. These devices are simple yet useful. Installation was a breeze and mobile app set up as well. Just paired this app with some Micro SD cards and was ready to go. I really like the (simple) voice controls and honestly don't feel I'm missing anything with the lack of a screen. What could be better? Maybe resolution, it is not great for capturing plates. I have seen other Chinese brand dashcams with better resolution but I decided to prioritize brand and reliability with Garmin. ... show more

  • Stops recording videos after a while
Style: Dash Cam Mini 2
I have three cars and I've gotten two generic A119 cameras and never had any problems. They don't have a lot of bells and whistles, like an app that can connect to the camera and view/download the videos, but they've dependably recorded without issues. I got the Garmin for my Porsche, I wanted to be able to view videos on my phone rather than having to take an SD card out and view it on a computer. Even though the generic cameras had no issues, I felt the Garmin would be a more reliable option since it was for my more expensive car. Boy was I wrong, the Garmin worked fine for two months and then would intermittently record. The camera comes on, shows the red light indicating its recording and I can even connect to it, but it won't record videos from some 75% of the the drives unless I manually tell it to record (the manual recording is only meant to record short clips). I went to Garmin's site and followed all the directions to fix this issue, this mainly entails formatting the SD card and making sure the camera is plugged in. Nothing has helped. The worst part of this is that the entire time I thought I was protected in the event there was an accident and here this camera was not doing anything. I am just glad I discovered the issue before something happened. I'm going to go back to the old dependable A119s, the Garmin is garbage. ... show more

  • MUST HAVE IN YOUR CAR!
Style: Dash Cam Mini 2
I always push my family members and friends to get dashcams in their cars, since it just saves a lot of time dealing with insurance if anything happens. This Garmin Mini 2 is one of my favorite just because it doesn't have a big screen, it's simple, I press the button if something happens and it saves it on the sd card. Which can then be viewed through your phones Garmin Drive app, OR using the micro sd card, which is not provided with this dashcam, but I do recommend using a 64gb+ SD card from Sandisk Or Samsung. ... show more

  • Very good quality, easy operation and Install. Compact size.
Style: Dash Cam Mini 2
I have been very happy with this Garmin unit replacing a no name dashcam. The size allows it to be just about unseen behind the rear view mirror. The operation is very straightforward. No regrets here. Along with a Dongar rear view mirror power adapter it is a very clean install
