This Famyards hose is very flexible, light weight and constructed with decent quality. Inner diameter of 5/8 inches provide a good water flow. Both end fittings are made of aluminum, not brass as others might have thought. The product description says it’s kink-free. In my opinion, kink means permanent deformation of a hose losing its roundness; this hose flattens (or kinks if you like to call it), but it bounces back once water starts to flow with fair pressure, it’s kink-free in this sense. Yes, the hose was delivered as kinked as shown in the photo. It bounced back when I turned water on. I use this hose as a connecting hose to a sump pump in the rain barrel to deliver rain water to my garden, and needed a good flexible hose with the largest inner diameter in order to minimize friction loss for the sump pump. It would have been a perfect hose for me if the length is 30 feet. By the way, I wouldn’t drink water directly from a general-purpose garden hose unless it’s specifically made for potable application. I have ordered many heavy duty hoses before and this one feels light-weight. You get what you pay for. I seriously doubt this is gonna hold up long-term but only time will tell.

    • Good enough for light to medium use
I didn't expect to get a 5-star hose at this suggested price and I didn't, but the hose is pretty flexible and not as heavy to work with as some heavy duty hoses. The end connectors are also not heavy duty but didn't leak at the hose bib. All in all, a decent hose for the money.

This one will fill the short line needs in one of my wife's my flower beds. This 25 Ft x 5/8" Hybrid water hose from Famyards looks like it will nicely fill a need for us this coming summer. I plan to use it as part of our summer season watering system to service part of one of my wife's several beautiful flowerbeds. For watering these beds consistently I set up a multi-zone timer, mostly 4 zone style. From that I run 25 Ft hoses out to wave sprinklers or drip lines. I prefer a lighter color than the black due to the high heat they can accumulate during the sunny summer months, but this one will be mostly underneath the vegetation canopy so will be ok. I appreciate the machined aluminum hose fittings. I have only had a problem with one application of those and that was last fall when I found that my recently purchased hose had a full rotational swivel on not only the Female connector end (as expected and needed to attach the hose) but also on the Male threaded connector end. That made it very difficult to tighten together properly and I had to resort to pliers to grip that connector end. I checked this assembly and both hose end fittings work correctly. Female cap end turns, the Male threaded end does not turn. The flat white washer is just listed as rubber but could be vinyl, which is ok. I recently ordered some 70 durometer silicone washers so I could replace the degrading rubber one on my dishwasher. Which had recently leaked.. Those silicone will never age nor split, and these feel like they could be that material. They seal well, so time will tell on durability. It won't be a permanent line inside my home so I have much lower performance requirements anyhow. Glad that this is an actual 5/8" hose as I have enough water pressure losses in the full system that at this point I do not need to add more flow resistance by having the size compromised. We will get this out and set up soon. Right now, middle of April it is still raining at least 3 days of the week. The price we pay for beautiful greenery all around us. ... show more
