EDIT: I received a very swift response from their support team/the seller. They shipped me new chairs to replace the one that'd gone bad. I sincerely appreciate their promptness and willingness to replace the entire chair. I've revised my review accordingly but am leaving the original review below. I was actually pretty happy with the build - not too complicated, decent quality for what you pay for (nearly $40 per barstool) until it came time to remove the pesky number labels that help you assemble. The one on the back pulled off the contact paper on the backrest of the chair. Now it’s ruined. Until I receive a response from their support team, I’ll leave this at a 1-star and would recommend spending the extra dollar for other barstools.

I didn't want fancy island chairs just something that supports someone sitting and wanting to sit back. These are perfect for that, can handle weight and easy to assemble. Good quality for the price!

I was skeptical at first because of lack of reviews but after purchasing, I love these chairs. - Pros: (1) Comfortable seats, (2) easy to assemble, (3) the wood on the chairs is good quality (4) Nice modern and homey look! - Cons: (1) There is only a front and back bar to put your feet on and not one of the side. Your feet will dangle if you sit from the side (2) There was a malfunction with screwing one of the screws in the back of the chair. A screw sticks out now because of it. Overall I’m very satisfied with these chairs. 4 chairs at this price, you can’t beat it!

Overall semi comfortable. Good for a countertop or bar. Hard to put together because the screws weren't threaded properly. I don't recommend this product pretty cheap.

I knew buying a more budget minded chair would come with a lower level of materials, comfort, etc. What I did not expect was two chairs that, once assembled, do not sit level AT ALL. The good news for me is these are for a carpeted area, so that is hidden just a little bit. If you are wanting this for a flat surface, don't even bother. Additionally, assembling these things was atrocious. I can't even recount the amount of furniture I have assembled at almost 40 years old, and these were potentially the absolute worst. While the instructions are straightforward, if you do it the way they tell you, your holes won't line up correctly, and you'll end up stripping screw threads. It was so bad, I almost just stopped, re-boxed them up, and sent them back. I am/was on a time crunch though for something, so I decided to just push through and be done with it. All that aside, they look okay, seem comfortable enough for the limited purpose they will serve (additional seating behind a bar top in our basement), and light weight. I would definitely not recommend these for a main area, or any sort of primary seating.
