  • Strong & durable!
Size: Four Pairs Style: Rebound 5A
well balanced durable hickory sticks

  • Beautifully constructed
Size: One Pair Style: Rebound 7A
These sticks are perfectly straight and feel to be in the same weight range, so I gave them five stars. That said, they are not my favorite. Bear in mind that I am talking personal preference and not disparaging the stick itself. I much prefer the ProMark Rebound 7A ActiveGrip Hickory model. Here are the reasons for my preference: (1) These are a tad too heavy for my playing style, whereas the other ProMark 7A model is just the right weight. I am sure that has a lot to do with the density of the fire tempered wood as well as the fact that these have the weight in the butt while the other sticks are front loaded with the weight, (2) For some reason these leave marks on my drum heads while the other stick model does not. I use coated Ambassadors on all of my drums, so that was a bit disconcerting. (3) I love the other model, which has an ActiveGrip finish. These are more like unfinished sticks, albeit very smooth ones. I am new to the ProMark ActiveGrip coated sticks, but quickly became enamored of them, (4) I am a traditional grip player who uses dynamics a lot. For heavier music these sticks are better suited. Although I personally prefer other ProMark models, you may in fact love these. Especially if you play louder music. At 16 inches they certainly have reach, and the .535 inch diameter is a nice compromise between jazz sizes and rock sizes (I normally play a thin .512 Elvin Jones model when I am not playing the 7A ActiveGrip one.) One final attribute: the hardened, acorn tip on these sticks impart a brightness and articulation to cymbals that 7A Rebound model's tip does not. ... show more

  • Good but noticably different
Size: One Pair Style: Rebound 5B
These are certainly as advertised. The actual fulcrum point on these sticks are only about half an inch off from where I would normally hold sticks, but they feel SO different to play with. They have their place and purpose, but not my everyday go-to. I would recommend something more balanced for a beginner, but for someone who wants to experiment, these are definitely interesting. ... show more

  • Can't Go Wrong With Firegrain!
Size: Four Pairs Style: Rebound 5A
Been playing with HICKORY as a beginner and then shifted to OAK for years! So, shifting from FIREGRAIN was a different ballgame for me. It gave me the best of two worlds, the dense feel that I am used to playing OAK, and the softness of those rebounds from Hickory.

  • Nice sticks.
Size: One Pair Style: Rebound 7A
Ok... So... I'm a guitarist that started playing drums in the pandemic. For a challenge. I bought an e-set and a box of big cheap sticks. Well, I felt hand craps after a bit and never got comfortable with the sticks I bought. Therefore I played less. I read various opinions online and pretty much concluded I needed new sticks. Yup. And these are great. Light and I can play for hours. Really digging it. Thanks. ... show more

  • Fantastic sticks
Size: One Pair Style: Rebound 7A
Promark 7A rebound are by far my favorite sticks. I like both these Firegrain sticks and the ActiveGrip sticks. The ActiveGrip sticks stay in the hand really nicely, until the coating gets damaged. These Firegrain sticks are super-durable. They put up with a lot more abuse than you would expect for a 7A stick ... show more

  • 5A Rebound. Amazing sticks.
Size: One Pair Style: Rebound 5A
The 5a rebounds are not for everyone I imagine. The balance point on these sticks is so far back you can hold them at the very ends and still play ok. Comfortably less than an inch of the butt sticks out of my left trad-grip hand. They low-bounce. A lot. 5A is already is a "bouncy stick", making the taper even longer, pushing the center of gravity back, exaggerates the bounces even more. Very good for jazz, gospel, light funk, amazing cymbal response especially for faster work 1/16 and septuplet notes etc. No so good for rock or metal. Probably ok concert sticks too with the acorn tips. ... show more
