I bought this refrigerator for it's retro design which fits nicely in my old home, and as a single person, I wanted to downsize to something rather small. I bought the 12 cubic feet model which is on the larger end of the Galanz retro refrigerators but much smaller than my old fridge. It looks great and is a perfect look in my kitchen. When I looked at other reviews I noticed a lot of dented doors upon delivery, but I hoped that I would be lucky and not get a dented one. Unfortunately, I was one of the unlucky people who got a dented door. It was then I found out that customer service is virtually non-existant with this company. They told me that I could send in a photo of the dent and ask for a partial refund which would be reviewed within 6-8 weeks and might or might not be approved. OK..... Now I am struggling with the temperature settings which, when set on #3, medium coldness, froze and broke a rootbeer bottle, on two separate occasions. filling the refrigerator with rootbeer. The first time was right after I got the fridge set up and I thought - oh well, better not put the soda bottles at the back of the fridge while I figure out the settings. But it happened again. The second time I cleaned all the rootbeer out of the fridge and washed all the shelves which had rootbeer splashed all over, and then the glass crisper cover shattered in the sink when I set it in with the other shelves. And this is where customer service really became scarce. You cannot just go the Galanz web site and buy a replacement shelf. You can't call the customer service line and order a replacement. My call was put in a queue on each of the times I tried to call, and when it was my turn in the queue, I got an automated message that they couldn't take my call right now. No one was manning their phones. I finally got ahold of someone, not sure how with all the calls I was making, who told me to filed a claim and request the replacement crisper cover. Heaven only knows how long it will take to process this claim but they did acknowledge receipt of my claim. So now I'm waiting, and while I wait for someone to process my claim and sent me a new crisper shelf, I have lost the use of that shelf, meaning I have much less room for food storage. I appreciate the attractive refrigerator and the appealing marketing for the Galanz retro line but it unconscioutionable to offer a product and not offer replacement parts. Really, shelves? Since their shelf shatters to easily, they should really make a replacement readily available. I hope their customer service improves. I've never dealt with such an infuriating company. I'm plannning to go to my hardware store to see if they can give me a sheet of tempered glass that can serve as a temporary cover/shelf for the crisper and I'm still working on getting the settings right and making sure I dont' get anymore frozen bottles. In summary, love the look of the fridge but wish common replacement parts like shelves, were obtainable!!! ... show more

I love my bright red fridge so much!! 12.5 sq. ft. is a lot larger than expected! Plus, it's silent; no noise whatsoever. It reached temperature, in both the freezer and fridge, in less than eight hours, although I still gave it a whole day before I started loading it up. I bought it as a second fridge; so far, so good. Although, I haven't had it very long. If anything changes I'll let you know, but as of right now,I highly recommend it. ... show more

    • Very Pleased & Impressed - Love The Auto Defrost In Both Fridge & Freezer!

Two years ago I bought the smaller 4.6 Cu Foot version of this and have been very happy with it. Also have a 2.5 Cu Ft small unit (not this brand) that has been going good for nearly sixty years now. Felt like I could get by with two small units but started realizing more space would be very nice. So This 10 Cu Foot model is perfect, gives me twice the space as the smaller unit, and came with the bonus that I didn't notice when I ordered it of Self Defrosting for both the fridge and freezer. The 4.6 Ft unit is also self defrosting but not the freezer part. When I decided to get this unit I opted for one without an ice maker and use a counter-top ice maker instead. This was based upon input from a repairman who mentioned how refrigerators with fewer things to wear out are best. I like very much the self defrosting freezer with its own door, which also has its own independent temp control. ... show more

Unfortunately, like many others, my refrigerator arrived with a dent. Fortunately it’s on the right rear corner and doesn’t show once the fridge is in its alcove. Still, with all the issues reported steps should be taken to either pack these smaller models better, or ship them with more care. 🤷🏼♀️ One other issue, the screw holes in the door handles weren’t all big enough for the screws, so I had to Dremmel them out. Kind of a pain in the butt, and hard to deal with if you don’t have the right tools. On the upside, it’s just stinkin’ adorable. I love the way it looks! It’s exactly what I wanted. It cooled down quickly, and has more space inside than you might think. So it’s doing its job super well and looking good while doing it. ... show more

I don't typically write reviews for my Amazon buys, but this item has exceeded my expectations for the price by far. We moved into our first home and the old fridge left behind was just not worth trying to salvage. Being somewhat cash strapped and not ready to commit to a full-size replacement (especially others with this retro style), we stumbled upon this. I was skeptical at first, but the fridge is a perfectly managable size for two people in terms of storage space, and the black retro look is great. Appearance has kept it's charm and still looks new six months on. No issues with shipping, no issues of any kind. Having a smaller fridge leaves us more space in the kitchen as well, which may be hard to lose whenever we upgrade to a full-size fridge as our family grows. The end game for this will become either a garage or basement fridge, when that time comes. The only con I can give is that some items toward the back of the very top shelf may get a little too chilly, we've had a few smaller items freeze back there - the best problem to have with a fridge, it can cool too well at times. Might even just be something we could adjust further with the freezer settings, but we're happy. ... show more
