My thermometer arrived with the needle sitting above 100 F. Having nothing to compare it to, I assumed that it wouldn't go below 100. Eventually I started to doubt the temp readings and I bought an IR Digital Thermometer to compare temps. Not surprisingly I found the temp reading to be inaccurate on this thermometer by over 100 degrees. When this thermometer was completely cool, I twisted the magnet on the back of the unit until the needle was where 0 would be. Now when I compare the temp displayed on this thermometer to that displayed on the IR Digital Thermometer, the temps are close enough for government work.

As noted in the photo, this thermometer is wildly inaccurate. I have several other thermometers stationed around our home, and I can accurately gauge/compare the laser temp gun with these other reference sources. When I compared the "GalaFire" F60 Magnetic Stove Thermometer with the gun, the thermometer read 750 degrees F, and you can see what the gun read at the instant of the recording. Note: the thermometer has cooled since the reading, but the gun recorded the moment-457.3....well within the normal safe operating range of 300 to 600 degrees F. And as stated in the other re-posted reviewers comments shown below, the dial colors faded over night. Crap, Crap, Crap. This is the third Chinese stove thermometer I've purchased on Amazon, and they've all failed to be accurate or take the heat. Repost of another purchaser's review: Update 02/06/2019: Worked a stated.... for about an hour. The orange face paint turned black, and dial indicator, which is attached to the magnet is totally without of registration, meaning, when you lifted the thermometer by the bale (lifting ring) slightly, leaving the magnet in contact with the top of the stove, the indicator needle would stay inline with the magnet, while dial could be rotated left or right. Giving false readings everytime. Completely useless crap. I unfortunately decarded the packaging prior to this discovery, and now have a joke attached to the top of my stove. "Gee... what temperature would you like it to be? I don't know Let's just twist it up to whatever...." This could be just a one off defective unit, but other review were not so kind either. I'd think twice before purchasing this product.
