Ergonomic chairs are expensive. Seems the high priced ones are solid metal, but it's not really necessary with modern materials that are similarly strong. This chair is a mix of metal and thick durable moulded plastic. It feels as sturdy as any all-metal chair and super comfortable. Assembly was quite easy. The lumbar support is excellent, and it motivates proper posture. Lumbar position is adjustable, but it slips up or down too easily. Some kind of locking mechanism would be nice. I initially thought the headrest was too far back, but then I realized that placement forces me to sit more upright instead of slumping forward. Now that I am used to it, I prefer it. 5 stars for sure.

Been developing lower back pain from sitting for long times (teleworking) and couldn’t find a comfortable chair. I tried two other chairs before ordering the GY1070 and they seemed to make it worse. Amazon delivered the chair a week ago (10/14/24) and I’m already noticing an improvement. The chair just fits my body better and supports it where it needs to be supported. The web seating doesn’t create any pressure points that were getting increasingly worse with other chairs. Customer Service responded in less then 12 hrs about activating 2 year warranty and the offer for blade wheels! Impressive!

This is a nice chair with a very comfortable seat, is absolutely super-simple to assemble (no tools needed), and will likely fit the needs of many people. It has its limitations, but for the price it’s easy to forgive the shortcomings. The chair comes packed unassembled, protected with loads of bubble wrap and plastic to protect it during shipping. Once the parts had been extracted from the packaging it took me literally less than ten minutes to assemble (and about five more before my kids were spinning on it). All the parts either snap in place, use a push-together friction fit, or are held by tightening levers. It’s really a fine piece of engineering, even if it is almost all plastic. The look of the chair is quite attractive and build quality is very nice for the price. I was initially slightly concerned at the lack of almost any metal parts (the pneumatic height-adjusting piston is the only visible metal part of the entire chair), but once it was assembled and I’d tried it out my worries subsided. It’s sturdy, and the seat is pleasantly cushioned yet supportive, as is the ‘hammock’ effect of the mesh seatback. It’s all quite comfortable and is suitable for extended sitting. The adjustability of the chair is really its only obvious weak point for me. The pneumatic piston offers great seat height adjustment and the width of the arms is adjustable, but that’s about where the customization ends. The armrest height is fixed, which isn’t terribly uncommon at this price but can lead to comfort issues (they’re too low for my taste). Additionally, the seat swivels freely but doesn’t have a pivot control and can’t be tilted back so your butt will be parallel to the ground at all times. The seatback does pivot but it isn’t lockable, so if you lean back the seatback is going to travel back a few inches before it stops – whether you want it to or not. I prefer the seatback to be locked to the seat while the whole seat/seatback is able to tilt as a unit (think: rocking chair) so this is exactly the wrong combination of controls for me. For the low cost of the chair I can understand the choices the manufacturer made, but I’m not sure at this point whether I’ll get used to this configuration or not. I’m sitting in it right now as I type this and it’s working for me, but when I decide to take a break and lean back to relax for a bit I might be disappointed. Still, this is all a personal preference thing so I can’t really knock the chair too much for it. For the price this is a great item; I’m just not sure it’s to my tastes. Fortunately my kids love it so it’ll always have a home in one of their rooms.

The chair is very comfortable and fits well under our desk. Although the casters seems fine for a chair in this price range, we set them aside and installed new roller blade type wheel casters for a truly excellent chair.
