I snatched this up as soon as I could! I’ve always wanted my own mixer, and this one is perfect as an entry-level mixer…that said, the mixer does NOT provide phantom power support for a condenser microphone I already had. While I had ordered this so quickly without thoroughly reading the listing, I was very pleasantly surprised to later learn that this comes with ITS OWN compatible microphone!! Now I have two! If you don’t know much about mixers, and already have a mic you want to use with this, do some research first to be sure about the compatibility. However, it does come with its own mic, and you could order an adapter to provide phantom power for use with a different kind of condenser microphone. Just keep in mind if you already have a $200 condenser mic, you likely will want to pair it with a higher-grade mixer to make the most out of your mic’s capabilities, rather than spending money on an adapter to get it to work with this. This comes with thorough instructions to guide you through setup. It comes with its own mic and mic stand, and even a little set of earbuds! This would make an AWESOME gift for a newbie to podcasting and anyone interested in sound engineering. For $20, are you kidding me?? It’s an amazing value. Pros may be disappointed in what this set can and can’t do. But as a “starter package,” as it’s referred to in the product features, it’s perfect. It will take a newbie awhile before they get to the point of noticing any shortcomings…prior to that they will be gaining knowledge, having fun…and also, THEN you and they can decide if they are serious enough about continuing this journey to justify the investment into an upgrade. I’ve worked with a few beginner audio mixers before, and the G1 definitely holds its own in the budget category. I used it for some casual live streaming and vocal work, and it was surprisingly intuitive to set up, especially with a phone or laptop. The vocal effects are fun to play with, and having faders for quick adjustments is a nice touch, but some buttons feel a little plasticky and the build quality is decent, not stellar. That said, for the price, you get a solid bundle that can absolutely carry a beginner streamer or podcaster. The ability to monitor and loopback audio live made editing easier, and I loved how compact the whole unit is. I’d recommend it for anyone dipping their toes into content creation, but if you’re a seasoned audio nerd, you’ll probably want something more robust. ... show more

    • I can’t believe this is only $20! Recommended
This is advertised as a turn-key home podcasting kit but it has to capacity to be that and so much more. First, let me say that buying this was a leap of faith as the product description was the victim of a really bad translation. It was easier to just look at the picture and figure out what it probably does. So let me fill in a few of the blanks. As the picture show, this is a two channel audio mixer, voice and music. Inputs and outputs are all 1/8” TRS phone plugs except for one USB-C port that has multiple functions including audio in/record out and battery charging. Inputs for two mics and TRS stereo. Outputs for recording, monitor and a combination headphone/monitor with mic. Bluetooth audio capable. Multiple reverb modes plus a slider to control the level. For the singers, it features multiple AutoTune settings and a Voice Elimination setting. There’s also a “Ducking” button that will lower the music or backtrack volume when you begin speaking. A Loopback button assures compatibility with both portable devices and PCs. There are six Customizable special effects buttons that will sample 10 seconds of audio each. Slider controls for monitor, output and reverb level as well as for the 3 band EQ. Input levels for both mics are controlled bu a single rotary knob as are the audio inputs. Runs about 6 hours on a full charge. All for 20 bucks…But wait, there’s more! It ships with one (not two as described) Caridoid Pattern Condenser Microphone that has a surprisingly clean, flat response similar to the classic SM57. Good voice response for speech or singing. Based on performance alone, the mic is easily worth the $20 price alone. Other accessories include a basic stereo headset, a male-male 1/8” TRS cable, USB-C charging cable with an attached USB-A adapter and a plastic table-top mic stand. Also included is an XLR female to 1/8” male TRS adapter cable. I recently purchased a similar XLR cable for a studio mic and paid $17.99 for it alone. You’ll be happy to know that both the instructions and a reference card are both written in easy to understand English. The unit measures a compact 5x6.5x1.5 inch’s. For twenty bucks, I expected a toy. What I got was a surprisingly capable little sound board that punches way above its price tag.
