What can I say.. this is a classic, and I should have purchased one a long time ago. I now make my own sourdough bread, croissants, pain au chocolat, chausson aux pommes, etc.. I really like that model because the entire motor pivots on a swivel to give access to the bowl. It's really easy to operate. My daughter has the model that lifts up with a crank, and I much prefer mine for convenience and ease of use. I recommend getting a glass bowl.. its expensive, but you can see your dough rising much better. I also got the meat grinder attachment.. its a little clunky, and doesn't do an excellent job, but it's how should I say... "good enough". ... show more

My mother had one of these many years ago and I was happy to see that Kitchenaid did not cheapen it up over the years with a bunch of plastic parts. It is still rugged and made of metal.

Easy to use and makes baking incredibly easier than a hand held mixer. Takes up a bit of space, but still worth the use. It’s not loud and doesn’t make a mess. I got Red and the color shown definitely does the piece justice.

Fantastic mixer. Be aware though that the access to the bowl interior is more challenging than older models as the bowl lip is close to the machine. We are looking at a larger bowl to see if that helps. Otherwise, great purchase
