  • Best Mixer Money Can Buy!
Color: Ink Blue
I bought this mixer for my grandson and his fiance for their wedding gift. I have it to them early so they could start using it. It is a wonderful item to gift someone because it will last FOREVER! My Mom got hers when I was 8 years old. I'm 63 and my sister has it now since my Mom passed away. It looks new, works like it is new, and it's 55 years old! ! They are AMAZING mixers! They offer excellent tools you can purchase to go with them, pasta maker, slicers, food processors, meat slicers, grain mills, etc. KITCHENAID is the best out there! EVERY kitchen should have one! They are a joy to use and truly help anything you make with the Kitchenaid come out better! ... show more

  • long lasting, reliable and versatile
Color: Empire Red
This is the most heavily used tool in my kitchen besides my tea kettle, I have had mine for over 6 years now and it is still going strong today. It is unbelievably versatile and very heavy duty. Due to it's weight, I thought it was best to find a permanent home for it on my kitchen counter as opposed to putting it away each time; the bonus is that it looks very attractive on the counter due to its iconic look. My friends are always jealous when they see this, most of them end up buying one for themselves! Besides being very useful for making baked goods like cakes, muffins, and breads (and don't forget icing!), this is fantastic for blending meat! That's right, if you use the flat paddle to blend canned chicken breasts or tuna, you will get the most delicate chicken or tuna salad sandwiches out of it. I also use it to blend ground turkey or ground beef for the smoothest, most consistent meatloaf texture ever. Same thing for hamburger patties- I like to make mine out of ground beef and sausage meat, if you mix it with the flat paddle first you will get a perfect patty that is consistent throughout, and you will get a perfect shape if you use a mold. The best part is, your fingers don't have to get cold from mixing ground meat together. Speaking of ground meat, did you know they make a sausage making extension? You can make your own sausage at home if you are so inclined. Due to the powerful motor, you can buy all kinds of extensions on this so the KitchenAid's uses are not limited to the mixing bowl. I have the pasta making extension and it really does work. You mix the pasta dough in the mixing bowl (or by hand), and you run it through the extruder extension. It comes in several sizes and can make several different shapes. However, ever since I bought the Phillips Pasta Maker, I can't go back to the KitchenAid to make pasta anymore. I love my pasta maker and I have to say the KitchenAid loses out on this. That being said, not everyone has to room nor wants to buy a separate pasta maker- this is a very good replacement tool for making pasta. I have tried the hand crank pasta maker as well, you will never want to go back after using the extruder extension! Some other uses that you might not think- this makes excellent honey butter. I make biscuits using my KitchenAid and the honey butter goes so well with those biscuits! I use 1 cup of honey and 1 cup of butter and it really does make awesome honey butter. You can try and make all kinds of butters (e.g. apple butter using applesauce and butter) with this, and you can even make your own butter if you work cream long enough on this! I do not think it is capable of making nut butters, however...you will need a high powered blender like a blendtec or a decent food processor for that. Make sure you clean it well after every use. The bowl and the mixing tool can be washed in the dishwasher.. I have washed those in the dishwasher for over 6 years, and no rust! I wipe down the machine itself with a wet paper towel if flour or icing sugar gets on it, and it will. Sometimes milk or butter or meat will get on the machine itself during the mixing process, and I use a wet paper towel with dish soup to wipe it down, followed by a plain wet paper towel. Again, I have been doing this for a while and my machine is still as red and vibrant as the day it came out of the box. ... show more

  • Absolutely amazing!
Color: White
I know with all the other reviews for this mixer, you won't need mine to decide weither or not to buy one for yourself, but, still, I was a little hesitant myself. First, price aside, knowing now about this mixer, price is no longer an issue, it's worth whatever you pay for it. I finally got one, and justified it as, "Well, this is a Christmas present... to myself," but again, this mixer doesn't need justification, it's just absolutely amazing. I used it for the first time, the other night, to mix my cheeses for lasagna. This step usually included me with a large bowl, a large spoon, and my arthritis hurting after the first 10 minutes. Especially when I have to do things like add salt, or basil, garlic or other seasonings, and have to make sure it's completely moxed again, before I can taist it, and continue this step over and over, usually taking about 20 minutes to make sure it's all mixed with the seasonings, and I'm pleased. Anyway, I put all the cheses and standard seasonings into the mixing bowl, put the head down, and turned it on. I have to admit, I was a little scared that the bowl wasn't big enough, but trust me, it is. It's bigger than it seems in the pictures, and even at home, it's bigger than it looks, until you fill it up with stuff, then you realize how much it holds. Well, back to the mixing, I put the head down, turned it on 3, and within the first 5 seconds, the cheeses were blended, the eeggs were already mixed in, along with the basil, garlic, salt and pepper on top. This thing did just as much in five seconds, as it normally takes me 5 minutes in a bowl. I won't bore everyone with more detail, but I will say, that I've been cooking for nearly 20 years now, so I know my way around a kitchen, and my only regret is not buying this mixer sooner. I'm a perfectionist, especially when i comes to cooking, and this mixer allows me to be a perfectionist, quicker, faster, and actually, better. I just can't tell you enough, how much you need this in your kitchen. If you think that your hand mixer does the same job, or is good enough, then don't bother buying this, because you won't appreciate things like the ability to have both hands free, or you won't notice things like if your cake is silky smooth, or notice things like, if the seasonings are incorporated into every bit of the recipe, instead of just on the food that your hand mixer will reach, and you probably think it's common for some bites to taist better than others, or some bites to be more overpowering than others, and you won't appreciate this. However, if you truly want to be a better cook, and have your food turn out better, you will buy this. Well, I hate to make this review even longer, but after using my mother's mixer that she got for Christmas, I figured I'd throw in one more advantage of this mixer... it's ease of use for those with arthritis. I was noticing on hers, that you had to push down a button with strength, to release the attachments, while this you just push up, and turn. Another great advantage is, with hers, you had to push in a button on the side, with force, and lift up, while it pinched your finger since it was placed where the hinge is, while this one, you just push back the lever, and lift up. These small details that they include, truly do set this apart from any other. ... show more

  • KitchenAid Quality. Enough Said!
Color: Pistachio
Hubby splurged and spoiled me for Christmas. I could pick out the color I wanted, which was pistachio green. I had an older, vintage-looking KitchenAid years ago that I had to leave behind when we moved across the country twenty-one years ago, and I'm not gonna lie, I missed it. Hubby knew this and decided I needed a new, updated version. This tilt head stand mixer is everything I wanted in a mixer, and then some. The 5-qt bowl attaches firmly to the base so it doesn't wobble during mixing. The mixer came with a wire whisk, a paddle attachment, and the coveted dough hook. Every time I use it, my KitchenAid mixer outshines everything else I've ever had. Cookie dough? Effortless. Batter for my homemade egg bites? Stellar performance. The eggs come out fluffy every time. I can't wait to make my first batch of pizza dough in this beauty, but I already know it will be the best I've ever had. One, because the KitchenAid made it simple, and two, because it's homemade. This will be the last mixer I'll ever need, and because it's a KitchenAid, I'm confident that it will last for the rest of my life. It's a name I've always trusted, and with good reason. For more than 100 years, they've made quality products that endure the test of time. I'm so happy to have one in my kitchen. ... show more

  • Best mixer ever made
Color: Onyx Black
I just received my new mixer today. It looks great. This replaces the kitchen aid mixer I bought 40 years ago. I won’t be here in 40 years to let you know if this one lasts as long but I expect that it will.
