  • Powers through 6 cups of bread dough like nothing and looks great!
Color: Cast Iron Black Style: Mixer
My old 325watt 5 quart Kitchenaid has been struggling with kneading bread dough. I've rebuilt it once but it still sometimes would stop and hum. It's still fine for everything else, though loud. We have had it, for, I believe, over 25 years. For Thanksgiving, I made fresh bread (delicious) but had to do all the kneading by hand--this is why old-time bakers all had big muscular arms--it's a workout! The old machine will go to one of our offspring because it still does everything else better than a hand mixer, and probably any other mixer. This machine is 500 watts, and 7 quarts, and comes with the regular beater, squeegee beater for things like cake mixes, a wire whisk, improved pouring shield, and a pig-tail dough hook, a huge improvement on the old flat hook. First time making bread (NEVER go over the #2 speed!) it powered through the dough quietly and only after many, many minutes got a little warm, where the old one couldn't be run for more than 2 minutes at a time (when kneading dough) with a minute or two to cool each time. I didn't even have to do a final hand knead! Despite being bigger and stronger it actually doesn't take up much more real estate than the old one and feels a bit lighter surprisingly, although still very heavy. Lots of little improvements: A nice knob on the lifting jack handle, a better-looking brushed nickel knob on the speed control over the old black plastic one, and 11 speeds rather than ten. The pouring shield is now one piece rather than two and enclosed on top rather than open, and works very well. They even upgraded the power-takeoff locking screw and cover. Finally, they added a cord wrap when not using it. So far, the only drawback is the handsome textured matte black finish: flour gets stuck on it much more easily than on the smooth finish. I do not know if the other colors are the same or smooth, but this was the right color for our kitchen. ... show more

  • My brand new KitchenAid Mixer
Color: Contour Silver Style: Mixer
The media could not be loaded. Alright, so I love this mixer. It's my 3rd KitchenAid mixer that I have owned. My last KitchenAid Mixer lasted over 10 years and just one day the motor stalled while I was mixing bread dough and my beloved mixer that I used daily died on me. My husband bought me this one and I LOVE IT. If you have had older models you can tell how updated this one is. It's much quieter than my older KitchenAid. I have a large family and I have to make large quantities in the mixer and the old one seemed to be able to knead dough but you can tell it put stress on the machine. You can tell this just does it quite easily. It also comes with an attachment that I have never seen before- the flex beater. I can't wait to try it out. $500 for a mixer is a hefty price but these mixers last a long time and mine gets heavy daily use so it's worth the price. ... show more

  • Just amazing!!!!
Color: Empire Red Style: Mixer
I really love my new 7 qt. mixer. My 6 qt. had a bad switch, and I had to get a new mixer. So glad I did; it is so quiet compared to the other one I had, and the bowl and attachments from my other mixer still fit my new one, if I need them. Just a gem to work with, highly recommend. The speed switch is much easier to use and works so much better. EXCELLENT; WONDERFUL...THANK YOU! ... show more

  • This mixer is awesome and quiet!
Color: Milkshake Style: Mixer
I’ve owned several kitchenaids over the years and this model stood out to me for a few reasons. I mainly bought it because of the motor and bowl size. It’s been perfect for cookie dough and cinnamon roll dough which I make many batches a couple times a week. Best part? It’s so quiet compared to my 600 pro model, I can barely hear it standing right next to it! Amazing. ... show more

  • Absolutely in love!
Color: Pistachio Style: Mixer
Kitchen aid is a brand you can count on and this was not my first mixer from them but my first this size! Did not disappoint! Color is gorgeous! Love that it came with multiple attachments instead of the usual 3 I got with my smaller mixer. Has been running great! I’ve made so much bread, cakes, crackers, and pasta noodles since I’ve gotten it and it purs along. I love the 1/2 speed setting it’s been amazing. ... show more

  • Holds 5 pounds of flour with ease
Color: Contour Silver Style: Mixer
Nice, heavy machine with a large bowl. Ordered a 24 by 12 rolling table to avoid overstressing the wife!! She loves it.

  • Pricey, but worth it!
Color: Milkshake Style: Mixer
Bought this to handle more heavy dough for sourdough, replacing my very satisfactory 30+ year-old tilt-head Kitchenaid mixer. This is a beast! It doesn't walk around the countertop even when kneading a 1900 g double batch of bread dough, which it handled without strain. I already had several attachments for my old KA mixer (that work fine on this new one) so I didn't consider other heavy-duty mixers that are more specialized for bread dough. I do wish they'd ship with a SS dough hook (which they do sell separately) instead of the painted aluminum one that's included. But so far it's working OK without shedding the paint which other reviewers have complained about. ... show more
