Love this for my Weber summit grill. So much better than the open grill. I can cook everything I cooked on the grill and more!! much easier to clean after each use, just wipe clean with a paper towel. Note that this is a nonstick surface so use plastic utensils. You won’t be disappointed!!

Perfect fit and function, no need for a separate grill!

I recently (this spring) got a Weber 300 series grill, and when I was buying it saw they had their flat iron add-ons for almost 300 bucks. As much as I wanted it, I couldn't spend that much, so I went on the hunt for an alternative. This is it! This thing is heavy! LIke 25 lbs maybe? I'm guessing it is cast iron, because it seasoned like cast iron with a coating of canola oil. I seasoned at max heat for 1 hour and wiped off the extra oil with a paper towel. I let it cool then couldn't resist grabbing some eggs to test it out - perfect. No sticking at all! Perfect fried eggs for my egg sams! Their is a whole list of models this will work on, and when I was contemplating my grill purchase, I asked a buddy to measure his 200 series grill - they are all the same size. This fits in the grill like it was literally made for it, as if it came with the grill as an obvious accessory. Clean up is super easy (as all cast iron cookware is). Let it cool, wipe it down with a wash cloth, and then wipe a little oil on it before storing. I keep mine in a NEW trashbag when not in use. Keeps it from surface rusting (it is stored outside).

I bought this EasyBBQ griddle flattop attachment expecting a standard, seasonable cooking surface. The instructions explicitly said to season the grill before use. However, the product description failed to mention that this item apparently has a hidden Teflon or non-stick chemical coating.During the standard seasoning process, the entire toxic coating began to melt and completely peeled off the surface. I regretfully cooked on this before realizing what was happening, which is a massive health and safety hazard.Because it has been "used" and seasoned, I am now unable to return this defective, dangerous piece of metal. Save your money, your time, and your health. Avoid this product at all costs.

Will Not Season Like An Iron Griddle

This griddle has a coating on it, something the seller does not mention. I am uncertain as to what kind of coating, but perhaps it's teflon as others have indicated. It is impossible to season the surface like an iron griddle. I use avacado oil for seasoning at high temperature, but the oil beads up and will not spread smoothly onto the surface. Even multiple very thin coatings spread with a paper towel do this. I applied about 10 thin coats, let each coating smoke off, and then cool. Then heat and apply another thin coat. After 10 thin coats he oil still beads up and will not spread smoothly on the surface and the previous seasoning layer tends to come off on the towel used to spread the next coat. After one cooking session, while the griddle was still hot I squirted water on the surface to steam it and wipe with a rag, like any flat top griddle. This removes all traces of all the coats of seasoning from the surface and brings it back to the teflon (or whatever the surface has on it from the factory). The seller does not indicate that this surface has a factory coating on it, and the written instructions indicate that at least 2 coats of seasoning is necessary... but seasoning this griddle surface is simply not feasible. Having sad this, the surface is solid and heavy, and easy to cook on. Food does not stick but I always apply an oil or butter before putting food on it. On my 3 burner Weber Spirit II, it is easy to cook with zones that have different heat levels making it simple to cook various foods with different temperature requirements. After a month of regular use there are some surface scratches starting to become evident from metal spatulas and a scraper, so I don't know how long the non-stick coating will last. I'm going to look for wooden utensils instead of metal to reduce the ear and tear on the surface. But given the price, it is a decent griddle surface.

This griddle insert turned our Weber into a restaurant flat top

I didn’t know my Weber Genesis 300 had an issue until this griddle insert arrived and fixed everything. This is 24 lbs of solid carbon steel restaurant quality flat top and it fits our grill like it was born there. Non-stick, stupid easy to clean, and built like it will literally outlive us all. This is an amazing value! We’re doing smash burgers this weekend and I have been talking about it all week. My family is tired of hearing about it. I don’t care. The cook list is endless with eggs, pancakes, grilled cheese, chicken, pork chops, veggies… basically anything a diner griddle can do, this does it right in your backyard. The silicone gloves that come with it are a bonus — thick, grippy, and you WILL need them because this thing gets seriously hot. If you have a Weber Genesis 300 series, stop scrolling. Your grill has been waiting for this moment.

Excellent news quality griddle.

Fits perfectly on the Weber spirit grill, and has a nice non stick finish. After an initial washing we used it right away fro bacon and smash burgers, along with carmelized onions. Totally nonstick, and wipes clean. It’s nice and heavy and heats evenly. The only downside is the need to keep grease from getting down the opening along the back, we just put foil along the bottom of the stand, but it wasn’t an issue. Also, when attaching the handles don’t follow the instructions, they’ve got it backwards.
