I am a believer of at least 5 gallons for bettas. However I have an older spenderns who struggles to get to the top of the tank due to floofy fins and age. This little tank is perfect for him! I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality for this price point. He seems much less stressed and is able to get to the top so much easier. Once he goes to betta heaven, this will make an awesome shrimp tank. I am very happy with my puchase.

I set this up on my desk a week ago and it is the perfect size for a small workspace. The 2.5-gallon tank is compact enough that it doesn't take over my whole desk, but it still gives a betta plenty of room to swim around. The LED light is surprisingly bright and really makes the colors of the fish and plants pop, especially in the evening. The filter is very quiet, which I appreciate since I'm sitting right next to it all day. It provides a gentle flow that doesn't toss the fish around, which is always a concern with smaller tanks. The lid fits securely and has a convenient feeding hole so you don't have to take the whole top off every time you want to feed your fish. One thing to keep in mind is that because it is a smaller volume of water, you really have to stay on top of your water changes to keep the parameters stable. It is a great starter kit for a beginner, but you should definitely pick up a small heater separately since bettas need consistent warmth and this kit doesn't include one. It’s a sharp-looking little setup that definitely brightens up my office.

Instructions for the filter could have been better, but overall it's just what I needed for a sick betta I adopted. The tank is still cycling and he's still in his hospital tank, but I'm hopeful he'll be graduating soon to this tank to continue healing. I liked that it came with almost everything you need to start minus the heater, but those are easy enough to get.

This small tank is a great option for a desk or smaller space. It comes with the basic components needed to get started, which makes setup simple. It comes with a nice hang on back filter with a pump and intake sponge that is optional, a super bright light, and an acrylic top with cut outs for the filter and light. The only thing you would need is a small heater and decorations. The filter runs quietly and helps keep the water clear. The light is bright enough to highlight the tank without being too harsh. It is a manageable size and works well for someone new to aquariums. Overall, a convenient starter setup and a lot of fun. I also love how the lid has clips that make the lid fit snugly and you can control the flow of the filter very easily. You get a lot for what it costs, very good value for the money.

This aquarium came fitted out with a filter and light. Considering it is a 2.5 gallon fish tank that was a nice touch. It's size is just right for a beginner. It looks like a really nice small aquarium. The glass seems to be durable and safe for regular use. I've never had an aquarium before and it came with an instruction booklet, but I still have some questions that I need to figure out. I haven't put it to work yet, but I don't see it having any problems. It appears to be constructed for daily use. I'm looking forward to getting my first fish and trying it out!
