  • You can get a good binocular for less money , you want get a better one than theses for more.
Size: 8x42 Color: Green
Very very good binoculars. The only thing I was disappointed in is where they were made. I was under the impression they were made in England , but it turns out they are made in China . The China thing is why I didn’t give five stars on the price, and the same for the four stars for the binocular overall. I had a issue with the eye cups and sent the binoculars back and they were replaced without question . The service and turnaround was done in less than a week and half from the time I sent them back till Hawke service had them back to me. I don’t know much about binoculars, but I do know these are the best I have ever looked through. ... show more

  • Ridiculous deal
Size: 8x42 Color: Green
These binoculars are well worth the 350 dollars they sell for. Actually at 600 dollars these would be a good buy in my opinion. I compared these to my alpha binocs and these have great brightness, clarity, depth of field and width of field. They look nice, they feel nice and when you look through them you almost think you are looking through binoculars that would sell for 3 times what these do. The lenses are clear to about 70-80 percent of the edges and they just soften to the edges. I don't notice this when looking through them. The focus feels smooth, quick and accurate. Way too good and that's why I will keep them. You wont regret this pair. **6 months later I feel the same and would like to add that the coatings on these binoculars are the very best and literally arrest chromatic aberrations. Side by side with the Meopta Meopro HD's these Hawkes showed almost zero reflections or light abberations in the lenses with the morning sun shining in the objectives. The Meopros were horrible and the lenses literally lit up around the outside 30-40 percent. IMO the Meopros have great glass and terrible coatings. Go Hawke! ... show more

  • High quality binoculars with amazing clarity
Size: 8x42 Color: Green
I bought these light weight binoculars for bird watching. They let in a wonderful amount of light to enhance the image brightness and the image clarity is amazing. The width of the field of view is very nice. They feel very solid and are made from a material that is very easy to grip. I selected them because they were chosen as the best bird watching binocs in 2019 by a bird watching organization in the UK. ... show more

  • Sweet binos!
Size: 8x42 Color: Green
I'm very happy with these! Much nicer than the Nikon 5s I sent back, or the Nikon 7s I looked at at a store. Sturdy and small enough to be handy. Perfect for what I use them for, birding and wildlife observing.

  • Almost best binos I ever had
Size: 8x42 Color: Green
Really awesome. Best I ever used overall. Warranty can't be beat. Light for what they are, comfortable. They are super bright and have a really excellent color accuracy at night. Perfect birding and great for astronomy. Too bad don't make equivalent in 10x

  • Solid binoculars with minor defects
Size: 8x42 Color: Green
I bought these for birding, nature watching, and sporting events- basically for any daytime application. They do very well for that. Clear, bright, sharp, and a nice wide field of view, which is more important than many people realize if you are trying to follow or pick up moving objects (compare to the oft-recommended Nikon Monarch 5, which has a comparatively narrow field of view). They are also fine for night sky observing, but I prefer 10x50s for a dedicated astronomy binocular. I use with glasses, and the Hawke has enough eye relief to view comfortably and see the entire field of view. Several relatively minor quibbles: I often get a white reflective arc in the lower field of view- I'm not sure of the cause, but this occurs with or without glasses. Probably some kind of internal reflection. I have seen several other mentions of this, but some people don't seem to get it in theirs, so maybe that's a quality control issue? Also, it shows fairly pronounced chromatic aberration (color fringing) when viewing a bird or tree limb against a bright cloudy backdrop- worst cases scenario for that, so it's not a deal breaker at this price point, and it is not obtrusive in normal usage. The last issue is the zipper on the case. It often splits open when zipped up, so I don't really trust the case to protect the binoculars. Would I buy again? Yes. No binocular is perfect, and it's a solid performer at this price point. *Note, I did not purchase this from Amazon. ... show more
