  • The viewfinder magnification is good.
The media could not be loaded. First of all, you will have a hard time finding a thermal monocular with a 384 x 288 pixel sensor resolution with a 17 micrometer pixel pitch and <18mk NETD at this price point. This is probably the best value you can find. When it comes to quality, this "feels" like a professional tool. You know that scene in Jurassic Park where Tim picks up the night vision binoculars and the lawyer asks if they're heavy and then says, "Then they're expensive, put them back". That's what these feel like, they feel expensive. When researching this monocular, I couldn't find much information on the magnification of the viewfinder, which is something that is important to me. When looking through the viewfinder, I don't think the display looks as large as the display on the ATN Blazeseeker 207, but it's WAY bigger than the display on the FLIR Scout TK, which resembles looking at a tiny screen at the end of a tunnel. The display on the XQ19 is more than acceptable. The only thing I didn't like with this monocular is that the menu system is a little complicated. On previous thermal monoculars I've owned, you could change the color palette by pressing one button. With the XQ19, you have to go through the menu to change it. The redeeming factor is that the XQ19 offers 8 different color palettes, which is nice. Green is definitely my favorite palette. I paid $1000 for this monocular, I got a bargain. ... show more

  • Great product
Great product. I replaced an older model and this is certainly an upgrade. Love the WiFi viewing option as well.

  • Excellent entry level thermal imaging monocular
The monocular was purchased specifically for birding. Monocular has a large FOV and the capability to locate and track a subject in dense vegetation. It is an excellent entry level monocular and meets my needs.

  • The quality is unmatched
If you own a thermal scope you need this because it sucks swinging the rifle around looking for things …

  • Came with dead battery
Battery was dead on arrival. Charged for 4 hours and wouldn’t hold a charge. Was able to at least turn it on when it was plugged directly to outlet via USB

  • Impressive 384 Resolution in a Lightweight, Compact Thermal
The media could not be loaded. The XQ19 is an excellent compact thermal. One of the biggest challenges when shopping for a small handheld thermal is that most options are not true 384 resolution. That higher resolution makes a noticeable difference in detail and target identification. Many other monocular scanners with 384 resolution are priced closer to $1,500, so the XQ19 is very reasonably priced for what it offers. Battery life has been impressive and lasts noticeably longer than my scope-style thermals. The unit is also lightweight, so my arms don’t get fatigued even after holding it up for extended periods. My primary reason for purchasing the XQ19 was to use it as a scanner while sitting in a blind, without having to keep my rifle shouldered the entire time just to look through a thermal. It excels in this role. The XQ19 also includes a green monochrome color palette, which I find to be the second-best option behind white hot. The companion app works well for downloading photos and updating the firmware. I’ve attached some images taken directly from the device for reference. There are only two things that would make this unit even better: 1. A slightly larger screen or larger viewing glass (not a major issue). 2. A shutterless NUC. Overall, this is a very solid thermal monocular and a great value for a 384-resolution unit. ... show more
