With a powerful 640x480 microbolometer that detects heat signatures over 1900 yards away, this is an excellent device for scoping large areas and locating prey. It then transmits these images to a pristine 1024x768 AMOLED display, giving the user clear, crisp image of their target. With 2.5-20x magnification along with built-in photo and video recording, Wi-Fi connectivity and a 16GB memory card, the Axion 2 XG35 is a technological wonder. The Axion 2 is also supported by the Stream Vision 2 app, enabling shooters to record and preserve all their precious shooting memories. Weighing a mere 0.6lbs, the Axion 2 XG35 is made of a high-quality reinforced magnesium alloy that boasts IPX7 protection and operates in temperatures between -13F to 122F. Utilizing a Pulsar APS5 Li-ion battery, the Axion 2 operates for up to 7 hours. Housing made from light weight magnesium alloy ensures high structural rigidity and ruggedness while retaining small weight and ergonomics. Quick delivery. Original factory packaging, so it hadn't previously been opened. Excellent image compared to my Axion XM30S monocular (320x240 12um; 1024x768). Significantly better image than my Talion XQ38 rifle scope (384x288 17um; 1024x768). For comparison, I have been pleased with the XM30S image and very happy with the XQ38 image. The menu functioning is very similar between all units, which is a big plus. The 2 XG35 APS5 battery lasts much longer than my prior monocular's APS3, is the same as my rifle scope battery, and the APS5 is less expensive. I use the monocular and scope when calling fox and coyote. My range of view is limited by terrain out to about 300 yards. For about the last three years, I have used a monocular almost daily and the rifle scope 2 to 4 times a week. The Pulsar units have operated flawlessly. I had to use the on-board pixel repair on the XM30S once, but have had no other glitches. I also have a Pulsar night vision rifle scope (IR), and while I greatly prefer thermal, that scope to has been flawless too. I have one knock on the 2 XG35 and one probable knock: THE KNOCK: You can't switch the hand strap to the left side like you can on the XM30S (I'm left handed). THE PROBABLE KNOCK: It does not have a rubber eye cup. I won't know if that's an issue until I use it in various daylight conditions. If it is a problem, I hope to remedy that with a short section of bicycle innertube. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. ... show more

It’s a very small device, so it’s easy to carry and travel with. It’s very easy to pick out animals on nature walks, especially at night. Works great for keeping an eye on the wooded park behind my house (we’ve had some trouble with theft etc). It has enough detail that I can even see through the cracks between my wood fence and detect people on the other side. After some usage, I’ve realized the battery might be bad. It states hours of use but I’m lucky to get around an hour of battery life. Battery also discharges when left in unit which is to be expected, but also seems to drain over a couple days when stored separately. I will see if customer service is available. ... show more

The absolute best compact FLIR monocular you can buy, period. The only gripe I can find is perhaps it should come with an ocular lens cover like the objective lens does. The quality of the image you get out of this unit is brilliant, just the other night I managed to spot a Starlink constellation flying overhead. Construction is solid with metal coated body. I purchased a new unit. I received a used unit. The screen has a small hot spot, is grainy and the whole left side has the appearance of a fog. There is also paint rubbed off above the objective lens indicating previous wear and tear. I will be requesting a refund to purchase another unit. Image is amazing. Detects animals so far the range finder cannot read (2000 yards+). Very durable, carried on a 4 day hunt no problems. Battery lasts a long time. Everyone i showed wants one now.

I currently have the Helion 2 XP 50 Pro, which still seems to be the benchmark, so I wasn't expecting this to match the quality, but online comparisons made it look close. I was willing to give up a little performance for size, but the XG 35 wasn't really close. Aside from disappointing image quality, it did constant linearity corrections during the first several minutes it was on, with a very grainy image. This improved once the unit warmed up, but the number of automatic corrections/graininess made it hard to use soon after turning it on. Ergonomics were great, better than the Helion 2. Usability wasn't quite as good though, likely due to the reduced number of buttons. I imagine that for people coming from lower end units, the XG35 will seem very good. But compared to the Helion 2 XP 50 Pro, it's disappointing. I was expecting more for the price. ... show more

Does what it says but I doubt the durability for daily use while hunting. A lot of money for something I am not sure will hold up. We will see.
