  • Great beginner telescope and budget friendly
This thing is phenomenal. So easy to setup and get up and running quickly. While you can use far more sophisticated programs to edit in post you can get some pretty good results in post just through the scope's app. It's amazing watching your image take shape as the images are stacked on the screen live for you to see with each shot. This telescope really brings the ability to do astrophotography even to the newest beginner. Highly recommend this telescope. Attached photos I took with the scope and cleaned up in post. ... show more

  • Absolutely Amazing
I have been playing with Astrophotography for a few years using a DSLR and equatorial mount and enjoyed the hobby. The setup of my equipment was always tricky to get the correct polar alignment and then finding targets that were dim was very difficult, especially when trying to get the target zoomed correctly to fill a decent portion of the frame. I was skeptical that the Dwarf3 would be as good as what I have read but I am even more impressed than I could have imagined. I'm able to set it up in minutes and take long duration series so I can enjoy the photography part without the frustration of the setup. This unit costs less than I invested in an equatorial mount and lenses etc for my DSLR. The unite is easy to use and software easy to understand. I'm using an equatorial mount so I can easily angle the Dwarf3 to get a solid equatorial alignment, which the software allows you to measure and tells you how to adjust to get better and better alignment. Setting up a series of shots is easy with auto parameters or setting individual parameters yourself. It comes with three built in filters for astro, dual band (for emission nebulas), and visible as well as a magnetic sun filter for sun shots. Buying a dual band filter for my DSLR was several hundred dollars alone and makes a significant difference when you are targeting the nebulas. It seems durable and is very light. I'm using a solid mid-weight tripod but you could likely use a lightweight tripod. The onboard stacking feature works so well and is so much more convenient than having to download a set with darkframes and process on my laptop. You can take new dark frames for custom settings that you prefer for series of shots. It comes with three dark frame default series out of the box so you can shoot without setting up dark frames. They also have the feature to process images by uploading them to their server and it takes a few minutes to process and send back to the Dwarf3. Their processing is so good I have stopped messing with it on my laptop for most targets. You can download your photos to your phone after processing and I've uploaded a few comparisons of before and after their processing for the same target stacks. I haven't had issues with the wifi connection like some other users note, my backyard has decent coverage from my house wifi network and it is so convenient to setup the system, align and then be able to setup series of shots from inside my house from my phone. The battery lasts several hours but I have a charger setup (it uses USB-C) so I can shoot longer or I have used a batter backup brick to power while using. I'm incredibly happy with this purchase and it is so fun to use. I've barely scratched the surface of what it can do and haven't played with the wide angle, panoramas or other feature at all. I upload the processed and unprocessed versions of the Pacman and California Nebulas as well as the Andromeda Galaxy so you could the provided processing difference. The other photos are the Triangulum Galaxy and a cluster. Also, I'm shooting from a backyard in the city so Bortle 5-6 location. ... show more

  • Amazing scope. Amazing pictures. I am extremely happy with this product.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ AMAZING SCOPE — I Wholeheartedly Recommend It I absolutely cherish this scope. There are many reasons why I give the DWARF 3 such a superb review. First, it’s highly portable. About as thick as a book, it travels effortlessly. I own another smart scope, and while I love them both, this one is my go-to for quick trips, motorcycle travel, and any time when space is at a premium. Second, the design is solid. It’s firmly built, robust, and remarkably handsome — it even looks a bit like the panoramic cameras on a Mars rover. The device feels solid in the hand and slews gracefully on the tripod I selected for it. Third, it takes excellent pictures of the sky. It’s amazing what this little scope can do in terms of image fidelity. The results are utterly astounding for its size and price, and I’m consistently impressed. Whether it is wide angle shots of the Milky Way, galaxies, nebulas of all sorts, or star clusters - I have not been disappointed. Fourth, once you get the hang of it, it’s easy to use. Equatorial mounting is a breeze, and Alt/Az shooting is even simpler. After a short learning curve, operation becomes second nature. Fifth, the included software works beautifully. The app denoises, cleans, and enhances images with remarkable ease. I’m genuinely impressed by how effortlessly it processes stacked frames. Beyond astrophotography, it excels as a terrestrial scope. While I primarily use it for the night sky, it’s also tremendous fun for wildlife photography — a wonderful versatility, especially with both telephoto and standard lenses. For advanced users, there’s plenty of headroom. The large internal memory, expandable storage, and ability to save in FITS format make it ideal for those who enjoy deeper post-processing and data control. The customization options are extensive. You can view histograms, adjust gain and shutter settings, and experiment with multiple filters. The dual-band filter makes emission nebulae pop, while the astro filter brings galaxies to life. It’s rare versatility at this price point. I also recommend the DWARF tripod. It’s a bit pricey but worth it — robust, smooth, and perfectly matched to the scope’s balance and motion. In short: I recommend this scope without reservation. It’s worth every cent, and I’d gladly pay double for what it delivers. A truly great product that opens the heavens. Thank you, DWARF Labs, for making an outstanding instrument. You have a loyal customer in me. ... show more

  • Do it!!
Totally worth it. So easy to use. So much so that it takes the fun out of star hoping and finding deep space objects jajajajaja. I see this as another aspect of astrophotography and a tool to use concurrent with seeing through eyepiece with another telescope. You can't beat it for the price. All those pictures are with minor editing. Tracks accurately and flawlessly. No regrets on this purchase. Should of done it much sooner. ... show more

  • Stunning results, I wish I had this as a kid.
It’s easy to use right out of the box. I would recommend getting a mount for the EQ mode which is easy to get set up with a little patience the first time. The photos are unprocessed straight from the Dwarf 3. I’m still trying to figure out the whole post processing thing. The Andromeda galaxy, Orion Nebula and the Horsehead Nebula are long exposures 15 to 30 seconds with about 100 to 200 exposures . The Dwarf 3 automatically stacks the images together. The sun has about 300 exposures. It’s a nice bit of kit. ... show more

  • Definitely worth the price!
It is an incredible piece of technology. The app is not the easiest to figure out initially, but after a bit of playing with it, I think we got it figured out. The photo quality on it is incredible!
