This machine is wonderful. The unit is a "returned" item and did not include an instruction manual, but it's extremely user-friendly. Pour the water to the max fill line, turn the machine on, and it starts immediately. The ice that can be seen in the photo is what is made from the maximum water added -- and it takes an hour or less. The ice is in a basket above the water reservoir, so the unit is about half-full of ice when it looks like this. Ice "cubes" (more like pellets) are of a good consistency and firmness. I used filtered water (from a Brita pitcher) and the ice tastes the way it should. I'd buy this item again -- and in fact, I might. I bought this one for the place where I volunteer, but maybe I need one at home too!

I really value reviews so I hope you find mine helpful! This ice maker comes with very clear directions, tips for troubleshooting, and labels all parts of the ice maker. I followed the directions for first-time use as you are supposed to ensure no issues may occur. It makes some noise when you power it on and let it run, which was something I wasn't expecting but not surprised. The ice cubes are made within 7-15 minutes and are dispensed into an easy-to-access tray that you can then scoop out. If you plan on having guests over for drinks and need ice, I recommend running this ice maker for maybe an hour prior just to have some ice prepared as only a small tray of ice cubes are dispensed at a time. The ice maker will let you know when the tray is full and will stop production until you pull some ice cubes out. I highly suggest getting this ice cube maker as it works really well and is at an affordable price (given how expensive ice makers can be).

I have had it for a month. It makes ice pretty quickly and is very compact. I wouldn’t recommend it if you live in a smaller place because it’s loud. It’s louder than my refrigerator and my fridge is huge.

Thank you Frigidaire!! I purchased a white Frigidaire to match my appliance’s. Did I say I love my Frigidaire countertop ice maker!! 100 stars. It’s great to just open the lid and have ice right on your counter. I use a Pure Water bottle to put ice cubes in they are perfect in size. I fill it with ice and put Grape juice, or Cranberry juice any juice or water I put my collagen powder and energy vitamins in and shake it up and have great ice drinks. I put ice in and make ice coffee. My dog loves ice cold water like his mom. He always has his ice. I use the Frigidaire Ice maker all through the day and evening. It’s a great gift to yourself or to gift to others. Thank you so much. You will be so happy you bought it. It’s not loud. It’s lightweight. Never fails to make ice. There is a window you can see inside. When you open it will make more ice. It’s just wonderful, fabulous and I love, love, love it. If your someone like me that loves cold ice drinks it’s perfect! UPDATE as of July 2020 - We ended up having to move last year, so only used this ice maker for about two months before packing it back up in its original packaging for a local move. It didn't get UNpacked until three months ago. We plugged it back in, ran a few rounds of lemon water through it to clean out the tubes, and got it going. Things seemed fine. It wasn't even as noisy as it was before. We only use bottled water in it, as our area has pretty hard water. But then last week, it suddenly decided it wasn't going to make ice any more. It was giving us the "add water" error message, even though it was full. We tried turning it off and back on several times. We also completely unplugged it, hoping that might reset whatever had gone wrong. Nope. Dead ice maker. So, we got LESS THAN SIX MONTHS' use from this ice maker. I don't know if it was just a lemon (you can read my original review...it never sounded right, and I never got a response from Frigidaire), or if this company makes extra-cheap machines. I am beyond disappointed in this. I need an ice maker and now can't afford to replace this one, with so little use on it. Not happy. ------------ ORIGINAL REVIEW - We've had two other ice machines over the last decade. We keep this upstairs. I am partially disabled and don't have the mobility to run to the kitchen fridge. These machines help me have cold drinks and fill ice bags. I love the color on this one. We've not had the Frigidare brand before, but most of these portable ice makers are the same and just have a different label slapped on them. It is pictured in the photo (decal was ours, they do not come thay way). This is making ice ok for now, but I am SERIOUSLY concerned about how long it will last! We have NEVER had one that sounded like it was on its last leg, gasping and grunting to get the water up into the freezing compartment! It grunts and grinds so loudly, it makes the overflow tray on our keurig coffee maker (maybe 1-1/2 to 2 feet from the ice maker) shake! It is like a mini earthquake when it pumps water up! I KNOW this is not normal. At first, we thought the coffee pot was dying and grunting, as we listened from the other room. Nope...it was this ice maker. I would like to see either the seller or manufacturer step up and replace this machine for us. We bought it new, not a refurb. Very disappointed in this unit so far. But I can no longer afford to just get a different one. 😓
