I do not have water lines dug on my place for cattle and horses for winter feeding (cattle are pastured on a place that does in the summer). Was looking for something to get me by for my winter lot for a few years and stumbled across this. Works exactly as intended, only downside is if your livestock don’t keep up with drinking it does spill over a little bit but is definetly worth it so you do not have to worry about frozen hoses or walking your hoses out every day after watering.     • Wish I new about these years ago
Works perfectly, no more irritating covers to remove to get to faucet. We've been down in the teens and no freeze up, on a wall that is north facing and has frozen allot over the years even with faucet being covered. Worked so well I ordered more for my other outdoor faucets.

I have had several of these on all of my outdoor spigots. They work well. The manufacturer's web site has additional videos on how these can be used while keeping the faucet functional in winter. I had one that continued to drip in warm weather. Contacted the manufacturer and they advised to put it in the freezer for a few hours and re-install it (in warmer weather). When doing so the valve will be fully open and will when reinstalling, will flush out any debris that may be in the valve and it will close as soon as it warms up sufficiently. Be advised that the valve will be quite open and will initially shoot out a vigorous stream of water, but it fixed my leaking unit completely. ... show more

    • Dripping above 40 degrees
Easy to install. Did the test by putting it in the freezer then connecting it outside above 60 degrees. Worked like a charm, ran water for a bit then shut off. But, now it does a slow drip regardless of being above 37 degrees? Still valuable as the Texas freeze is coming, but sad if I have to take it off once the freeze danger is over so it won’t drip 24/7. ... show more

I bought 2 of these 3 winters ago. This winter, one of them no longer worked so I replaced it with this purchase. The other is still working. Even if they only last 3 years, I consider them a good value.

Install two of these this year on faucets. Seemed to work fine when it was 32 Deg. here (Hempstead Tx. ) , but when our temp dropped to 22 deg this morning, I went and checked and neither one was working One of them had a solid ice drip and was no longer dripping. I bought another cheaper brand ( all brass ) and they are working just fine. Also we have good water pressure 60#. ... show more

We’ve just had temps of 6 degrees Fahrenheit and I put this on the end of 3 hoses connected together. They haven’t frozen after 2 days.
