I was hesitant at first because they cost a little more than other options for the same quantity, but the difference is obvious once you use them. They glide smoothly, feel like high‑end material, and the bright color is a huge plus especially in low lit areas where visibility can be an issue. They’re easy to spot on the court and stand out even when multiple games are going on. The Franklin Sports X‑40 Outdoor Pickleballs give a great response off the paddle — very consistent and satisfying on every hit. They’re also easy to control when adding spin, which makes rallies a lot more fun. The bright optic yellow color is a big plus too, making the balls easy to track on the court. The only downside is durability in cold weather. They tend to crack more easily when the temperature drops. In normal conditions, though, they play really well. Overall, a strong choice for outdoor play as long as you’re not in the cold.

This is a fun multi color pack of 6 Franklin X-40s. At my county outdoor pickleball facility everyone uses X-40s. I bought this as a birthday gift for a pickleball friend, and it was a huge hit. I bought a set for myself, too! Franklin X-40s last long, and are consistently good. I usually use yellow X-40s, but these are something different.
