This is my Go To Scanner. I have the OTTO-FIX D1PRO and I use the Foxwell NT1009 more often. I love the LCD, the updates have made this scanner more responsive and the amount of cars and features that I can access on Acura's, Toyota's, Honda's, Volvo's, Chevy's, Dodge's, Chrysler's, Hyundai's, Nissan's and many more are more than adequate to complete any job. The company is actively updating this tool and the dongle. I believe the main diagnostics software is Autel and the interface is Foxwells customer interface which I like better since it feels more responsive and is much quicker than the OTTO-FIX D1PRO. I would definitely buy again instead of the OTTO-FIX D1PRO! ... show more

Returned device, this device is more focused on euro cars than anything else, basic scanner for domestic usa, started my refund 3/9, ups picked it up 3/10, 11 days have passed and not a single update?

If you work on your own vehicles or are a mechanic by trade this is one of the best investments a person can make. Takes 99% of the guess work out of working on vehicles and will do everything that 5000 dollar snap ** will do. Highly recommend

    • Not worth it, couldn't read VIN correctly on 2015 GMC
When I went to scan a 2015 GMC 2500 it did scan the Vin, however it asked which engine, transmission, and a few other things the truck had before proceeding to scan, that's complete BS because I have a 50$ code reader that scans the VIN on everything fine. I ended up getting an xtool d9pro for under a grand that blows this thing out the water in both speed and functionality, I even have done ADAS racal's with the xtool.. ... show more

This is not a Vine review, I belive free products are offered to Vine community members for reciew. Therefor I have completely ignored those reveiews in my purchase decesion. Why I puchased this NT1009? 1st from a price point, I didn't expect this scanner to do any and everything or dealer level access. 2nd, good hardware such as an andriod OS based tablet with 2GB ram and 64GB storage, camera and a nice size screen with very good resolution. 3rd, I like the support team as I did reach out for a 2014 Mercedes air suspension question and it was answered very promptly. 4th, you can see what module and fuctions are covered by anyngiven vehicle. I did use the link to check all of my vehicle modules coverage, some have more coverage than others. I didn't see this kind of vehicle converage modules detail in some other brands. Keep in mind, this is a good scamner as it can access more car modules and gives you tons of data points for toubleshopting but will not do any and everything you would like nor this scanner is same as dealer shops. As a professional automotive technician I use scan tools on a daily basis both at work and at home. Over the years I have both owned and used many different brands and types of scan tools. I have used everything from basic handheld code readers to complex PC based manufacture specific equipment. **Please keep in mind that every vehicle is different and depending on the age and vehicle options will determine how efficient any scan tool will work. Also not all vehicles support all the functions that this tool is capable of**. This Foxwell NT1009 scan tool is a wireless, touch screen scan tool with a tablet style unit. The tool comes in a nice plastic case with lots of storage in one half and foam cutout to store the tool and bluetooth OBD2 adapter on the other. The tool itself feels very solid. It is a proprietary "tablet" with a very large, clear and responsive touch screen. The software is very straight forward and user friendly. Once you hook to the vehicle and choose an option from the main menu you can choose to "auto detect" vehicle and VIN. Then you can run a scan of all modules and it will populate a report. You can enter any module and read, clear codes and even control many functions. For example: in a BCM you can command headlights, wipers, horns etc to turn on and off. Control like this is usually not found in cheaper priced units. Live data can be transformed into waveforms and units of measure can be changed as well. This tool has many functions that you may or may not use depending on your vehicle and experience level. The included 2 yrs of FREE updates make this tool even more valuable. I have always been a fan of Autel and Launch scan tools but this Foxwell is quickly becoming a favorite. The price point of this tool for it's features and function are in line (and slightly less) than better known brands. This tool would be an excellent choice for a serious home mechanic or DIYer and even useful to for a basic professional. I give this Foxwell NT1009 scan tool 5 stars all day long. ... show more

Surprised at the amount of functions this has. It's basically a tablet. Got apps to work. Can search the internet. Didn't expect to have an all-in-one like that. Not a mechanic, but I think this would definitely be a useful tool for troubleshooting your own vehicle or for someone doing repairs as a side gig. ... show more
