I previously had a Nikon D5100 that you could release the shutter with a cheap $20 remote. Also with my previous setup I had some Yongnuo flash triggers. Recently found out that they can also be used for a shutter release but would need an interface cable. I needed a shutter release for my new D850 but the Nikon release would end up being around $500 or so. This $10 cable paired with my Yongnuo triggers saved me TONS of time and very easy to setup. ... show more

I bought this cable to use with the MIOPS Splash Drop Photography Kit (see my review elsewhere) and although I'm able to use the cable, the camera has to be fairly close to the water drop cup. If I move the camera even slightly, it pulls the drop kit out of alignment and I have to reset the shot again. I should have just bought the longer cable even though it was way more expensive. ... show more

update 7/19 Received a replacement, repeat the same test as below, it works now. The reason I elaborate the issue is because, when you are out shooting, you don't want to have a 10 pin cable with partial problem and make you wonder if the camera is to blame. Customer service is great, only costed me too much time to figure the cable problem. -- Update 7/15: contact customer service and will receive a replacement, very responsive. Will update if it works after it is delivered. ----- Quality problem? When connected to my Nikon D850, the live view, menu, and photo review buttons all won't work, take the cable cord off the camera, all work again. This is not acceptable!! ... show more
