It seems to work well and helped me locate my property line markers, and some random screws and nails in an area that I wanted to park a vehicle in. I haven't had a chance to properly test it, and tune it to specific metals to make sure it is working as it should, but I have no doubt that it functions and will serve its primary purpose of locating metals under the earth whenever I desire to search. It comes well-packaged and is easy to assemble. I would recommend it to anyone looking to start metal detecting as a hobby, to find lost/missing items, or to locate random markers/pipes in the ground around their property.

I purchased another metal detector before this one and was disappointed. It was plasticky, flimsy, and it didn't work consistently once it touched water. This one on the other hand was very impressive. Starting off with the packaging it has a nice box and things are packaged neatly and tightly inside. The extension poles require quarter turn to loosen the height adjustment similar to high-end tripods. The pole aluminum, light weight and very sturdy. The length like could fit for someone over 6 ft as well as my my kids who are under 4 ft. They had fun with this at the beach and though I didn't find anything impressive, they had fun exploring along with their imagination. I was able to use this at home looking for nails which dropped through our decking. This was able to find dozen's nails which ended up in the dirt below. I had much more peace of mind felt after walking through one pass with this thing and picking up all the leftover nails from a roofing project. I've had tetanus and lockjaw at one point in life and I wouldn't wish it on my kids. Once you're done using it, it takes about a minute to disassemble everything. If it's in a nice bag that they've included. This is a great product. It might not be a professional item but it is a high quality item. I would highly recommend it.

I live on 5 acres that was once an old farm so I'd always wanted a metal detector to find scraps of metal that might be an issue in the pastures that my horses occupy. Usually, stuff at this price is junk but when taking out the pieces they seemed to be good quality. The tube is made of metal and has three extendable sections to adjust the length to match your height. The detecting coil is plastic coated, and the arm cuff and electronics assembly housing feel like good quality stiff plastic that would not break easily. I don't suspect that I'll have any issues with the build quality. I assembled the detector in about five minutes and went out to try it without reading the manual. I quickly found several pieces of metal buried in my front yard. Of course, it couldn't be a gold nugget right off the bat, right? But, still pretty cool to find things that have been buried for more than 20 years without me, knowing about it. I went in to read the user manual so I could understand what the different settings were on the electronics. The manual was clear and easy to understand. Probably more detailed than the average user needs but good to know it has those settings if I want to get into it more. Most of the time I think I'll be leaving it in automatic mode, waiting for it to beep that it's found something, and then switching it into pinpoint mode so I can zero in on the item. A couple of things I wish were different. The arm cuff clamping is fine, but there is a metal rib that runs along that tube to keep it from twisting. I find that I would like the handle to be slightly off-center to match the curve of my arm, but there is no way to do that with the way its designed. The piece of Velcro that holds the arm cuff on could be wider so it was more comfortable as well, but that's an easy fix. The accessories that come with it are not the best quality, but nice to be included as beginner items that I wouldn't of thought of purchasing. I do have to call out the gloves included that were so badly made that several of the finger openings were sewn shut. But I can say without a doubt this is one of the best inexpensive metal detectors I've ever used. I look forward to using it more to hopefully find any scraps that might cause a problem with the animals or find the secret treasure I dream is out there!

Wasn't quite sure what this product would feel like when ordering but was I pleasantly surprised. Here's why: * solid construction - the telescoping pole is tight (not sloppy) and made of good quality aluminum * electronics and display work well and are backlit for dark environments * the manual documents everything you need to know get get started and competently operate the device, which is very well written. The manual also goes into a lot of detail for all the different operating modes and different types of metals detected, basically letting you know if it's a rusty-nail-type of metal or jewelry, or money or other precious metal. Pretty cool the sound * backed by manufacturers warranty In addition, this complete kit came with: 1) a big backpack style bag to transport the kit 2) collapsible shovel to dig to whatever you find 3) gloves 4) headset 5) electronics weather cover 6) probably a few more things I failed to mention In summary, it came with everything I needed to get started, including two 9V batteries for the display/electronics. Now I'm just looking for that 1st gold bullion to make it pay for itself ;- ) Highly recommended.
