This chair matt is awesome. Seems really strong and will save my carpet. It doesn’t slide on me at all. The Matt was rolled and when we unrolled it the Matt laid flat immediately. Just be careful unrolling. It straightens out quick with a lot of force. I would recommend this product.

Came rolled up, which was a little concerning given previous comments, however, after unrolling it and leaving it to flatten out for a little while it laid flat enough to put in my office. This is the 79x48 inch version which is huge. It is a little shiny and has a decent, non-slip texture. Thick enough that it doesn't feel like it is moving under your feet or chair rollers. Unwrapping helpful tips: Since someone mentioned they hurt themselves unwrapping this (they are under pressure like a spring), I will offer a few suggestions. First of all, the directions on the product were very clear, follow them and you'll be fine. Consider opening it outside where you can keep it a good distance from yourself and anything else as it springs open. Flattening tip: If yours isn't laying completely flat, consider leaving out in the sun on your driveway to heat up, the heat will release the stress, soften the plastic, allowing it to lay flat. ... show more

    • Sturdy, great mat - TAKE CARE WHEN UNROLLING

Like others commenting here, I was surprised how energetic it was when it unrolled. I cut the edge of my palm, and it flew open forcefully with a cracking noise. But it says so in several places on the packaging to expect this, so I cannot complain. Treat this thing with care and only cut the wrapping when you have the space for it to immediately fling itself open in a fraction of a second or it will hit you. But on the plus side, the extreme rigidity means you won't be waiting forever for it to get flat again after you roll it up (if you ever try), like you do with some PVC mats. This is the best mat I've used, and I love the size, thickness, and durability. I have medium pile carpet in my home office and it is a good size to roll on my chair between two adjacent desks. It provides just the right amount of friction - you will glide smoothly but you won't be slipping around all the time. I'm also a big guy, 250 lb with a heavy Steelcase chair. ... show more

I had this for only 2 weeks and the thing cracked. I then tried to return it for an exchange but the replacement was never shipped and now I am stuck with it.

Bottomline is that it needs to be thicker or made of a different material. I take pretty good care of my things and haven't been rough with it. Yet daily usage over the last 2 years has caused it to crack under the weight of an office chair and my 220 pound body (even after rotating it around to wear it on different areas vs. the same spots). ... show more

WE purchased this product to protect our carpet while my wife did remote School district teaching at home. It has had a a rolling chair on it 8 hours a day 7 days a week, and probably 2 hours daily on the weekends. Were not light people. It still looks brabd new after 4 months!! Couldn't be more pleased at this point!! Also I have nerve damage that causes tripping on things and I have had no problem with this mat! This is a extremely heavy duty product!! Well worth your money. Caution when opening it!! Update: It's not been quite a year and we developed one crack completely through the mat and have several fissure cracks. The mat has been placed on a very plush carpet and padding. When purhasing the mat I suspected to get some fissures but I am dissapoited in the crack completely through the mat and it's longevity. ... show more
