An excessive amount of water solution (16 oz. water + 8 drops liquid soap) will make handling the film easy. Spraying soapy water on the adhesive as you pull off the liner will prevent the film from being too sticky. To remove the liner, use two pieces of tape, attaching them to a corner (one on each side, facing each other). Press the tapes together, and then slowly separate the two pieces. The films are installed inside unless the film is specified as "exterior film". The window film allows for optimal privacy during the day, with a more limited view-shielding at night when the interior is illuminated. The highly reflective film also has very high heat rejection to help save energy costs. The S03 can therefore be a good choice if you prioritize maximizing reduction of incoming light and heat over maintaining the quality of the view through the window. The S03 is great for transforming plain glass into a functional mirror. No other film on the market offers a reflection with the same vividness as our S03 window film. The reflective silver tint also gives it an excellent heat-rejecting rate of up to 97% that keeps the interior of your home or office building nice and cool. This helps maintain your room at a cool, moderate temperature, resulting in lower cooling costs. The S03 is designed to be as dark and reflective as possible, making it great for daytime privacy. During the day, when the sunlight makes outside brighter than inside, onlookers outside would only see a mirror reflection, whereas from the inside there is some level of view through the reflective tint. The extremely dark silver tint of the S03 also helps reduce glare. The effect of any daytime privacy window film will greatly depend on the lighting conditions, because the side exposed to more light will become more reflective and harder to see through. This is why the privacy effect works so well during the day, since the sun usually makes the exterior of your building much, much brighter than the interior. The use of curtains or blinds will be needed for nighttime privacy. Good for homes and office buildings that are directly exposed to the sun which is the source of the UV rays, the S03 window film provides an excellent UV blocking barrier. It is usually recommended and necessary that you have more than enough film to cover the window. CLEANING THE WINDOWS It is best to clean the window with a window scraper before any installation. A window scraper is a glass safe razor blade, usually with a handle that can scrape the glass of any contaminants without scratching the glass. Using the window scraper and installation solution all over the window will clean it of any caked-on dirt that wiping will not remove. You can use the installation solution to also clean the window, as well as any non-ammonia-based cleaners. It is recommended to also clean the surrounding area of the glass, like the frame and seals before installation. Using a no lint or low lint cloth will ensure the glass will be free of any dust. REMOVING THE BACKING LINER Attach one piece of tape to a corner of the film, half of the tape on the film and the other half extending out from the corner. Then use another piece of tape on the other side of the same corner. Both tapes should be placed slightly offset. Hold onto the two tapes and press them together to grab the film's corner tip firmly. Then slowly separate the two pieces of tape; the liner and film should separate. As you gently pull the liner away, spray the exposed adhesive side of the film with the installation solution. This will make the film heavier and easier to manage, and it will also prevent the film from sticking to itself or to anything else. WETTING THE FILM & WINDOW Spray, spray, and spray more! You need to spray a lot to make the film fully wet and to be almost flooded on the film and the window glass surface. Please remember that fully wet window and film is one of the key factors for your successful installation. To handle the film easier when separating the film and the liner, spraying soapy solution liberally on the exposed adhesive side as you pull off the liner will prevent the film from being sticky. This will prevent the adhesive side from sticking to itself, eliminating potential wrinkles and bubbles during or after installation. Once the film piece is on the window, the squeegee should be used with firm pressure to push out the soapy water solution from inside the film, so that the moisture does not continue to interfere with the adhesive after the film has been installed. REMOVING THE FILM WHEN NEEDED Your installed window film can be removed even after years. You need to soften the cured or hardened adhesive of the film to remove the film. A fabric steamer or a heat gun can heat up the film and loosen the adhesive. Using a hair dryer can work, but it will take longer. If there is remaining adhesive residue, it can be easily removed with soapy water and a window scraper. Note that for adhesive films, the removed piece is not reusable. Removing a static cling film is very easy and simple. The static cling film doesn't have the adhesive and can be removed by hand, and you can store the removed film for reuse.
