We've been looking for this style Light for a long time. Either they were way too expensive, or way too cheap. Also, with Metal Bottom Bases they always seem to get dented somehow and have a cheap look. What caught my eye is, this Light has a MARBLE Bottom Base!! It's of great quality and looks exquisite, holding the Light in place without any tipping, and no issue if anything drops on it. I will tell you now, DO NOT expect an easy assembly. The instructions are sparse without much to go on. I fumbled with figuring out how the Lamp Shades are hung, and the main problem is the Pole Assembly (make sure you don't see any silver color between the poles, it must all look as one black piece). You have to be VERY GENTLE twisting the threaded ends together. They are very fine threaded, and took me a few tries, even though I held the ends together evenly. The clumsy issue with screwing on the heavy base was the same also, trying to make sure it was tightened completely, and threaded evenly. Don't worry about seeing a few extra screws. It was nice to have just in case. But, once fully assembled correctly it is a Beautiful, Quality Light. Oh, this is not a 3-way Lamp. When turned on, ALL the lights work at once, but it does have a dimmer. Still, it's a REALLY a nice Lamp. ... show more

I bought this floor lamp because my new furniture needs to sit almost 2 feet from the wall (recliners). There was a large space between the wall and the end table so this floor lamp fills it perfectly. I love the way it looks! The included light bulbs are very bright, very white. I may change them to a soft white but for now, it's lit well. The base of the lamp is very heavy (as it needs to be). The rest of the lamp needs to be assembled but the wires are already run through the rods. Each rod has connectors and instructions for putting them together. These connectors have 2 very tiny "screws" that you use the miniscule tool to tighten. They are actually just molded into the connectors and can't be turned at all. So I slid the rods into the connectors and hope for the best. If I move this lamp, they may come apart but luckily it's in the right place so no moving. You have to build the shades. There are 2 metal rings for each shade. You wrap the fabric of the shade around the wire ring, clipping it under the hooks to hold it in place. Then put the second ring on the other end (one on top and one on bottom), clipping those hooks in place. I thought this was very cheesy but they look just fine. One surprise for me is that the shades / bulbs hang from the actual wire and not the metal rod. I have this pictured. It looked so bad at first but you don't notice it unless it's brought to your attention. You can position the 3 shades to hang where you need them. That's helpful! I like the fact that you have options to where you can place the light arms. Taller than I thought it would be but that's ok. Directions are a bit vague. Better have some mechanical skills. Parts of the assembly was easy. Some others where a bit challenging. The worst part was the base. Really bad design. Most all if these types on multi sections are. The last piece that screws into the bottom if the upright tube would not stay screwed in. The way it was made was it was beveled so that once the mounting cap was screwed in, it was only held in by 1 or 2 threads. I had it stood upright and its pretty heavy wanting forward. The leaning weigh caused the upright tube section to partially come off of the base mounting cap that screws in the bottom. I tried and tried to get it to stay but it kept pulling loose. I really wanted the light so I assembled it again and Drilled a hole through the bottom of the uptight tube where the base mounting cap screws in. I put a bolt through it and now there is no way it can come loose. You would think after 40 years of making these the Chinese would have it perfected. No luck.     • Difficult to assemble and subpar quality
The Arc Floor Lamp is tricky to assemble because it is flimsy. The base that the lamp sits on is heavy. However, it is hard to screw the post onto the base and get it tight. If you don't tighten, the post pulls right out of the base. The lamp has three adjustable arcs that feature very cheaply made shades. Once the lamp is assembled, it works OK. The lights are dimmable and the lamp is decently bright. Don't expect this lamp to last a long time. It is also not UL rated! ... show more
