Description

The FLIR TG267 takes you beyond the limitations of single-spot IR thermometers to both see and evaluate the hot and cold spots that can indicate serious issues. Ideal for commercial electrical, facility maintenance, and HVAC applications, this advanced thermal camera with a brilliant 2.4 inch screen reduces diagnostic time while simplifying repair and maintenance reporting. Patented FLIR MSX® (Multi-Spectral Dynamic Imaging) enhancement improves image clarity by embossing visual scene details on full thermal images, providing added context to help you accurately target potential faults and troubleshoot repairs. Record images to monitor maintenance history and reassure your customer that problems have been resolved. • Great item for a value FLIR.
Style: TG165-X
I use this for monthly Electrical Panel inspections. Didn't need some high dollar model. Works like a champ.

  • Works for a casual user
Style: TG165-X
I'm no expert on using and interpreting the thermal images. Not even close. This unit did a good job of tracking down cold spots and indicating warm spots. For example, I had my electric throw on and sitting on the sofa, and it showed the framework of the wiring and that the wires were all working. It's easy to find hot and cold water pipes behind walls. Active electric wires too. A water leak would probably show up as a cold spot behind the wall or above the ceiling. I could see the cold attic joists through the ceiling. We had some work done but hadn't yet replaced the insulation, and you could see it through the drywall. That was pretty impressive to me. The downside is that it added to my list of things to do. I imagine if you had mice or chipmunks or worse, it would pick those up too. I don't think I'd want to go looking for them, however. :-) I picked up a possum outside on a cold night. We know the possum is around, but we didn't know where or if it was close, and it wasn't far away. We just leave it be, but it's cool to be able to "see" critters in the dark. Again, not an expert. I just wanted to find sources of cold air intrusion in the winter and this pointed me in the right direction. I was able to remediate some of the problems and make it more comfortable. It charged up quickly and it was easy to read the images. Get the initial reading of a spot, then let it focus on that spot for a minute to see what, if anything, changes. I used it for a while and didn't need to recharge the battery. I had no problems with the images stuttering or loading slowly. I didn't take too many permanent images and try to save them. It seems to do the job, it's uncomplicated, but I'm also not the person who will be using it hard. It did what it promised to do for this amateur. ... show more

  • Good, but dated
Style: TG267
It is a solid feeling instrument, but a bit dated in software and documentation. The last firmware available is 2018. The documentation (printed and online) says to use the Flir Tools app on the phone. This does not work with the TG267. Tech Support said to use Meterlink instead, and that connected easily. I only have one complaint with that software - to Bluetooth photos to the phone, you have to do it one at a time, you can't do groups of photos. That is a pretty poor oversight. It seems to do fine with viewing thermal images. I believe the lag problem some have mentioned is caused by trying to align the two images in low ambient lighting. Under brighter conditions there seems to be little lag. The alignment is sometimes off, but easily adjusted while viewing, no need to even open a menu. The attached image is of the electric heating elements in a bathroom tile floor - they show up quite clearly. Very useful if I ever need to drill a hole in that floor! There are a number of color palettes available (it defaults to Rainbow). I found the B&W modes most useful and less confusing. This image is White Hot, you can also choose Black Hot for the reverse image. The hardware feels solid and well protected - made for a rugged work environment. Battery life seems reasonably good too. My only hardware complaints are on two of the buttons: the OK button and the trigger (for taking photos). I have to pull at the very top of the trigger to get it to take a photo, simply pully on it normally does not work. The OK button seems to function normally, except when it comes to power off. Then I have to find a magic spot (right at the very top of the button) that will turn it off when held long enough. I spent days figuring out which thermal imaging device to get. I finally settled on this one. I do like not having yet another thing attached to my phone, and it is solid (especially compared to the fragile USB phone connections of some others). I am undecided that, if I know what I know now, I would still get this one or look for a different one. But I don't regret this purchase. ... show more

  • Flir TG275 fun Camera
Style: TG275
I have been having fun getting to know this new toy. The built in light is fairly bright for what it is. The laser is pretty cool too. It is a dot with a circle around it. It gets bigger the further away the object is. This does come with a protective pouch and includes a shoulder strap. Very nice to have. The app for this has changed to the “MeterLink” app. It will graph out all of the temperature high and lows and you go move the unit around. You can also set temperature alarms in the app. This app is also how you transfer photos to your phone. One thing to note. When turning on or off the device you need to long hold the power button. However if you are charging the tg275 and you hit the power button, it will turn on and stay on. This is not good if it is sitting in the pouch. It will get hot. I accidentally did this when i was making sure it was charging. You can hit any button including the power button to display the battery symbol and charge indication. Don’t use the power button. It feels good in the hand and honestly i love the way it looks. I also really like it comes with the pouch and a Wrist lanyard strap. The menu is really really easy to navigate. Everything seems to be very intuitive. There is a switch on the front of the TG275 that I wasn't sure about. It is the High temperature selector. I think it is more of a filter for the screen as it makes hot objects less bright or more bright. It would likely be beneficial if you were trying to view objects above or below 700 degrees. There is a finger trigger that snaps photos. They can easily be transferred to your phone via bluetooth and the “MeterLink” app. It takes about three or four seconds to transfer one photo. It will need to be disconnected from the charger to use. ... show more
