Description

With a twin-tank system featuring the new Fleck 9100 valve, customers benefit from soft water 24 hours a day, seven days a week. That’s because the second tank of soft water acts as a backup, ready to immediately provide soft water once 100 Percent of the first tank is used. While the second tank is in service, the first tank regenerates, giving you all the advantages of continuous soft water. The 9100SXT valve has been engineered and tested to withstand the equivalent of 27 years of uninterrupted daily use. 15 Percent savings in both water and salt. Unlike preset systems, the twin-tank system regenerates with soft water only when necessary. Plus it uses 100 Percent of the tank in service. The end result is fifteen percent savings in both water and salt. Compared to a system with meter delayed regeneration and the reserve set at 30 Percent of the system capacity, provided that half of the reserve capacity is unused. How the Twin-Tank Softener works. Water Softening Process Hard water enters the tank in service, and fills it. As it passes through the resin, the hard water ions are attracted to the resin. By the time the water gets to the bottom of the tank, it’s soft. Regeneration Process When the resin becomes saturated with hard water ions, the tank goes into regeneration. Brine water is injected into the tank and rinses the hard water ions off the resin and down the drain. Once the resin is free of the hard water ions, fresh, soft water backwashes all the brine water out, leaving the tank ready for service. Very fast shipping. I order this on Friday Dec 12th it was at my house on Monday Dec 15th. Great product and service. I had a question about a filter. So I had to call I figured I be on the phone for awhile was I wrong a person actually answered the phone answered my question in 2 minutes. Great customer service. I see there's a few people saying the have problems with leaking i have no leaks. The instructions and video tell you several several times DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN. I believe thats why this people are having problems there over tightening. The hardest part which has nothing to do with the water softner is running your water lines to the water softner. I would recommend using a flex line for final hookup. Took me an hour to set up water softner. Plumbing took me longer about 2hrs. 3hrs altogether. Fantastic on everything. ... show more

Everything was working great. Tank two regin was first. When it started tank one, the connecting tube o-rings started leaking on the input to take two. Code 3 came up which the manual said contact service provider. Since I purchased from Amazon, I have no service. Closest repair for pentair is 130 miles away. Also, could not set the regin schedule. When I push any button to set it up, it goes right into regin. I guess I will wait to speak to the customer service Monday. I hear they are great. First off, the vendor shipped same day as order and I received next day (Saturday), kudos to the speed. Second, UPS did not like to handle, short of just throwing it off the truck, it was kind of a mess. However, the vendor must have known this and packed it super smart and there was no damage to the tanks or missing pieces. This replaced 2 softener I had in my house. I decided to go with the twin tank system because of the size of our house, 4,600 Sq ft, 5 bed, 4 1/2 bath. With a family of 5, running on a well system, this softener had the capacity. The foot print was smaller with this system and saved space over the two I replaced. The hook up was easier because I used existing valves and lines. I would recommend you search online for a video for setup. The instructions were very vague, but after a quick 14 min video online I had the system together in under an hour. The same applies to programming. I also installed a whole house water filter system (pictured with tan tank). Depending on you water (well or city) this will help improve the taste and smell. Since I have a well, the filter added was a must. Water quality it great! After testing I had no lead, iron or copper traces. Water clearness (turbidity) was clean and clear. Ph and chlorine levels were low, and harness was under 20 (you can adjust hardness with meter depending on your water). The entire system with filter added was $2,500. In comparison to doing local purchase, I saved $3,000. If you are handy, mid-talented DIY'er, this should be at the most a 5 hr job (excluding trips to hardware store for plumbing). Also you will need to purchase 3/4 flex tubing for your backwash line, which it not included. ... show more

I never could get this thing to work. One tank works ok, not great, but just ok for softening the water. But the other TANK is a pain in my rear. It never would, and I'm guessing, never will soften the water. Their tech did try to help. But no matter how many times I take it apart and check the dip tube... it still doesn't work. My guess is the valve doesn't function properly. The tank is heavy so I'm guessing they didn't forget the resin. I've installed several water softeners over the years. Normally the ones available at the local hardware stores. I've never had much problem. I've also installed umpteen RO systems and manage the water and ice output for the company I work for. So I'm an above average DIY'er. Never had so much problem with any water "filter" that I've used. My 20 year old Whirlpool that I bypassed and planned on replacing for this system, still works better. Move along. Nothing to see here. ... show more

it leaks, company needs better quality control and or a better way to connect tanks together. 48 grain unit and 84 o-rings in connector tubes on two diff units will not seal , we have even tried to replace o-ring from local source with no luck.

I replaced an aging analog water softener with this Fleck 9100 SXT Dual Tank Softener and I couldn't be more impressed. Setup was a breeze after removing the old system. Setup was basically a reverse of the steps I had just completed. All the major components are Pentair, which is industry standard quality stuff. The system was mostly preprogrammed from Dura Water and I was running the system in no time, checking for leaks and proper operation. Zero issues... The next day I called Dura Water just to run through the programming and had some questions related to the use of Potassium in lieu of Salt. The representative with whom I spoke had all the answers I needed and was quite pleasant. Zero hold time too! The value of this package, at this price point, is almost beyond comprehension. Local companies are charging triple for a similar system, many of which are an in house design, not Pentair. If you are at all handy, watch some YouTube videos. This is not difficult to install, provided you already have feed lines tied into your home's plumbing. Highly recommend!!!! ... show more
