You will find our included fully programmable Fleck 5600 SXT metered paddle wheel control valve to be easy to navigate, and even easier to program to have your softener fully customized to fit your home's exact needs, helping you to save water and get the most efficient use out of your system. Whether you plan on hiring a plumber to install your system or you plan on doing everything on your own, we aim to make the installation process as easy as it can be for our customers. Included with our system: ***Drain line and connection hoses are not provided but can usually be found locally in the length needed for your installation location*** Please Note: This unit comes in two separate packages; One containing the mineral tank, and the other containing the brine tank with valve and fittings inside. Purchased this system to replace a 20 year-old Fleck/Pentair 7000 system that had performed well and was easy to service. Because I was familiar with the Fleck water softener products and because the plumbing connections were the same as my old system, installation, programming, and start-up was straight-forward and went flawlessly. The system arrived as scheduled (well packaged with no missing or broken parts). Note that you do need to purchase some additional parts (drain-line and clamp, silicone o-ring grease, teflon tape) but these are identified in both the instructions and videos along with specifying the necessary tools needed. Working by myself, I had it installed and running the next day. Removal of the old system and installation (including programming) took me less than 3 hours. The water was shut-off to the house less than 10 minutes while I removed the old system and connected the new system to the house plumbing. The included instructions plus the seller produced videos helped a great deal. Note that there are some minor differences between what the written instructions say vs what the videos show. When those differences occurred, I followed the written instructions. Once everything was installed and programmed, I performed the pre-start-up tasks (these are important and are well described in the instructions/videos) and I put the unit into service for an initial recharge (this takes about 90 minutes).     • Easy to install, then just enjoy the water
My family had a 40-year-old Culligan water softener that was still working but it exhausted the resin. I have put new resin in before but recommended to my family replacing it since parts haven't been made for that on in a decade maybe more. I was a Culligan service repairman for many years so when I started looking, I wanted a Flech control body which is very dependable, and 1-1/2 cubic foot unit with a meter. When I found this one it was highly recommended in the reviews and priced very well. When I ordered it, it comes with an adapter for 1" plumbing. I needed 3/4" so I place an extra order to buy the correct adapter. The company reached out to me and told me if I cancelled the extra order, they would remove the 1" and put in a 3/4" at no extra charge. When it arrived, it was very well packaged, it had the correct adapter. Installing it was easy. It was missing a fitting, I could have missed placed it, it appeared to be a standard 1/2" threaded fitting. I called the company AND A PERSON ANSWERED THE PHONE, I was shocked but very happy. She said they could overnight it but yes it was a standard fitting, so I just went to the hardware store and bought it. Programming was very easy, I had 1 question and again a person answered the phone, quickly answered the question. It has been in about a month, and everything is great.     • Works great and I do not have to worry about calcium buildup in the water heater.
This is the second Fleck 5600 that I have installed. The first one I installed in a previous house and it never caused me any grief. Just follow the programming instructions and it works. A 48,000 grain unit is overkill for my 2 person family so I programed it as a 32,000 grain unit. AI can give you instructions as to how to do that. ... show more

    • Love this softener
I had a Kenmore survey that went out, replaced it with this. I'm a jack of all trades, master of none, and this felt pretty easy. Took me about an hour to install the new lines, put this together, then set up. The manual that comes with it is set up kinda dummy proof, but its only going to get you in the ballpark, you'll need to know your water levels to get it dialed in. I have a friend who installs these and the settings he gave me were not too far off. The standard setup fills the tank much more than I'm used to seeing. Refill is on a timer and fill flow is pretty fast, so I had to adjust that down so that it's not filling too high. Our water is next level soft now, didn't realize how ineffective y last softener was until now. Also love how these are so easy to rebuild and replace instead of buying a whole new all in one system you get in retail stores. Can't sing the praises of this softener enough. ... show more

    • Works well, valve showed "Er 0" after six months, seller sent replacement promptly and all is good
I paid a local plumber to install it for us, and it started out great. The water has a very slight salty taste and consumes about one 40lbs salt crystal bag every six weeks. After six months the unit stopped working and flashed "Err 0" when trying to run a regen cycle. After power cycling it started up okay before going back to "Err 0". I called the Fleck/Pentair customer service number in the warranty book and was told I need to order a new piston and valve spacer which are "wear items" not covered under warranty. UPDATE 6/28/22: Seller Aplus Water LLC were incredibly helpful, and sent a replacement valve at no cost. They sent a return shipping label for the failed valve so they can inspect with the manufacturer. They sent a link to an instructional video they had made, and with that I was able to replace the value in about an hour. It is once again working perfectly. I haven't used my signed yet there was a small problem. I contacted A plus water the vender Jenna was as pleasant as could be and has initiated the process to fix the problem. Thanks so much to A plus for not making me jump through hoops.

    • Should have listened to the pros a long time ago
Went through more softeners from big box stores than I care to admit. They all were flakey - worked for a while, then had crazy stuff go wrong. Finally took the pro’s advice and went for a Fleck. Delivery went fine, which worried me but everything was packed well to be delivered by UPS in two boxes. Instructions were detailed enough and system has been working flawlessly for several months. Salt consumption is lower and steadier than the big box units. The two-unit footprint does take a little more room, but not a problem. I finally don’t have to think about it at all between salt fills, which is every three months or so. ... show more
