    • Will not honor #Warranty
I bought this product in October 2022. I returned from vacation to find the meter cable, disconnected and water squirting up. I keep this covered with a plastic cover so everything that squirted up came right back down on the meter. Here is the response. I got two weeks after I sent the product in for warranty. Martin, Pentair will not warranty the valve. They said because of the severity of wear that That several parts have corroded. Besides the meter, the piston, and seals are needing replaced and those are not covered by warranty. The meter cable needs replaced also. Those items would not have been damaged just by water leaking out. I would assume you probably have this installed outside and that would explain the wear on the valve. Anyway, since they will not cover it, I can send it back to you. or you can order parts to have it rebuilt. My very old Fleck 5600 was having issues and it was time to replace it. I was looking at the new digital softener heads but decided to stick with what has worked for me for years. Glad I stuck with this, no electronics to worry about. It was a perfect fit to my old resin tank and bypass valve. Perfect replacement for 25+ year old Fleck 5600 unit that failed in service due to cracked plastic internals. Used the meter head and spool valve assembly only and mounted these on the existing valve body on zeolite bed using the 3 x 516" fasteners - perfect fit, everything lined up perfectly, swap completed in less than 10 minutes. Be aware that these units new are set for 18 lbs salt per regeneration which is too high for most home systems. Simple to reset cam from 18 lbs down to 9 lbs per regen which is a much more appropriate level. ... show more

They provided Brian drain washer separately not installed and they don’t provide tool for that , when I tried to opened It it’s break , I called them and left message but no reply yet, and also they don’t provide tip basket with new one , in there description they mentioned complete system.     • Have always liked Fleck
I have always preferred Fleck metered heads on softeners. It is a much more efficient way to control salt usage than timer heads. The only thing I would like to see on Fleck heads is a better way to set the salt dose per regeneration. The tiny cam is too small to move acurately and the indicator is a guess to what it's pointing at. However, with a little trial and error you can find the right setting to make sure you run at 65-80% of the softener capacity which is the best salt savings. This vendor responded very quickly and I received the item faster than expected. ... show more

I wish it had a bypass on it, and I wish it was digital, but the thing has been working outside in the elements for over a year with no problems. Would I buy another one? Well, if my budget is tight I would. If not, I'd upgrade to a smarter meter with a bypass valve. I haven't really been inconvenienced by not having on to this point, though. ... show more
