  • Long term is a No
Color: Black
I've had this chair since 2013. Had to look through my orders because the lift actuator died quite some time ago and I was thinking about the price of the chair vs the actuator. The chair was use everyday and I am currently sitting in it right now. I can tell you early on, I remember having to get pillows to put in the seat cause it had deflated. I now use "ComfiLife Premium Comfort Seat Cushion" it is a must if you have already have a sub par chair. Been only using for about 4 months but holding up better than the chair. The chair is not all bad, I can sit in it :) and has hard plastic arm rests. Save your money and go for a better model, one that has at least 4 1/2 stars. Don't settle ... show more

  • Good chair for 69 US dollars
Color: Black
I received the chair today, put it together, and I'm sitting in it right now. The assembly is easy and the chair feels very solid. I bought it for the eye-catching price of 69 US dollars, which seems like a fair price because delivery was included. I like the Flash furniture kits. Until recently, I was using the Flash furniture kneeling chair at my desk. Since I hurt my knee, I'm unable to use the kneeling chair for more than a couple of hours without discomfort. I bought this chair, which is a conventional office chair with armrests and back support. It is not as ergonomic as the kneeling chair, but it is pretty good. I wanted to buy a chair upholstered in fabric, not leather, so it won't stick to my legs and so no animal is killed to make the chair. The black fabric looks good. The height control works well, and the swivel works well. There is no tilt adjustment to control the degree of tilt on the back of the chair. For that, you would need to move to a more expensive chair. You can tilt the chair back slightly by pushing with your feet, then it returns to vertical when you stop pushing. I am 5 foot 8 inches tall, and the back of the chair comes up to my shoulder blades. I can lean back in the chair comfortably and have full back support. The chair does not have support for your head or neck, but I don't need or want that anyway. The back of the chair is curved to provide lumbar support. The lumbar support is almost in the right place for my back, but I think it's about an inch off from being perfect. I don't believe it will cause me any discomfort. It might be designed for a slightly taller person. The padding seems very compressible and will probably not stay soft, but that's not a problem for me because I will just use a cushion or a folded blanket. Regarding the assembly: I have experience assembling furniture, as I put together most of the furniture in my house from kits in order to save money. The assembly on this chair is easy if you have experience using tools. Unfortunately it does not have detailed instructions, just one of those sheets with detailed pictures of what to do in each step of the assembly, but the pictures are easy to read. There is only one size of screw, so there is not a hassle of figuring out which size goes where. The kit comes with its own Allen wrench, so the only other tool you need is scissors to open the box, because the box was very well taped when the UPS guy brought it. You also might want a pair of cotton gloves, because the Allen wrench digs into the palm of your hand when you're tightening the screws. One important detail was not mentioned in the instructions, so I will explain it here in case you are new to assembling your own furniture. During each step of the assembly, when you put in the screws, make sure that you rotate around the screws and tighten them down evenly. Do not tighten one screw all the way, then move to the next screw. Instead you need to tighten each screw very lightly, then go around again and tighten each screw a little more, and keep going around and around until they are all as tight as they will go. I'm not an engineer, so I can't explain why this is necessary. I think it has something to do with shear forces. Anyway, it is necessary to rotate around the different screws and tighten them graduatlly, so they are all equally tight, in order to safely assemble the chair and make sure the screws don't come loose. If you don't follow this instruction, some of the screws will work loose, and the chair will be unstable. I would recommend this chair as a good mid-priced chair, if you are willing to spend a little time to make sure all the screws are tightened correctly. ... show more

  • Thin seat pad, and broke in 7 months
Color: Black
This is an update to my review, I have lowered my review to 1 star from 3. Originally I gave it 3 stars because while the seat pad was thin the pads usually only stay comfy for 6 months any then I get a cushion. However by month 7 the chair is unuseable. Not only do I feel like I'm sitting on plywood, now the height adjustment is broken. I set it on the height I need, sit in t, and over the next hour I slowly sink till I am back down to the lowest setting. I buy inexpensive chairs, however they still always last 3 years or more. This one maxxed out at 7 months, and to me, that is totally unacceptable. Here is my original review which was 3 stars: It was all right for a cheap chair. The arms are a bit flimsy and held on by 2 screws each, but mainly the seat pad is quite thin. I would recommend shopping a bit more unless you have a seat cushion - which I do - do place on it. I do a lot of sitting while working form my home office and after about 30 days this thing would feel like you were sitting on a wooden park bench. Other than that it seems like every other chair I have bought, and for me the seat cushion is no big deal since none of them are comfortable after 6 months (probably because I refuse to pay more than $100 for a chairs) ... show more

  • Nice chair for the cost, easy to build and comfortable
Color: Black
I purchased this chair when it was on sale over the holidays for under $40 dollars, I feel like I got a decent deal on it. Our previous chair was in horrible condition, it was a cheap Walmart fake leather chair. So going from that to this one is a huge difference. While it is a little firm, I like it and find it comfortable. I had it put together in about 10 minutes, it is not difficult at all. The instructions are just pictures and numbers, but it was easy to follow and understand. We have not been using this chair all that long, but considering there is usually someone sitting on it, it is holding up well and still comfortable. I will update if any issues arise within a reasonable amount of time in owning it. I do not expect the padding in the seat to last forever the amount of time we use the computer this chair is at but would hope to get at least 2 years out of it. Though if I ever see this chair for really cheap again I will not hesitate to buy another one, having multiple computers in the house we could always use another chair. ... show more
