I have had this chair for almost two years. The first year it sat 100% unused while my office was being finished so I have used this for about 1 year now. The Chair is very tall when the seat is raised so I have always used it at its lowest setting . I was surprised when I tried to raise it a few months back only to find that the Shock had failed . The othere disturbing part was that the Seat which claims to be leather is not. I have attached pictures of what happens with a year of use . Seems to be that spray on vinyl so you would be better off with a all fiber base. Beyond these two issues the chair has worked pretty well and is comfortable ... show more

    • Super sturdy chair, great by at under $300

I'm a big dude and have been through several chairs. Some for silly or simple reasons, usually minor flaws that I find annoying and just am unwilling to put up with, so I donate (because returning an item bought online is a pain), wait 3-6 months and then try again. Well, this time, I might have finally found one to last. Here's my thoughts so far... 1. Putting the thing together was really easy. 12 bolts, one allen wrench, and a few bolt covers to make it look pretty. The ONLY thing I could complain about is that I didn't like that the allen wrench had equal length ends past the bend instead of the traditional long/short. It only matter on two of the bolts where I had to keep removing the wrench to keep the unused end from hitting an adjustment knob on the bottom of the chair. Later on, with a couple of deep bolts to attach the arms to the back, it became important why it was like this, so had it been the traditional wrench, I guess I would've griped about that. LOL... it's really not that important and if you're like me, you have an entire drawer in your toolbox dedicated to the allen wrenches you've collected over the years. Even so, it wasn't enough to make me reach for one of those. 2. The arms push up! Not only to the push up, but they push up and back far enough to get COMPLETELY out of the way! This has been one of my biggest complaints with so many other chairs, especially those meant for big guys. I mean, if you're buying a chair which has its main selling point as being for 500 lb people and you aren't prone to "man-spreading" or can even go as far as to still be able to cross your legs, then you probably don't understand what I mean. For the actual target demographic, however, you may have also run into plenty of chairs that had fixed arms (typically attached near the back and front of the seat) that either bite into your side or the sides of your thighs or both. THIS chair does NOT do that! I am comfortable leaving the arms down in this chair, but I really appreciate that I can swivel them up if I desired. 3. The chair sits a little high, even bottomed all the way out, but it's still brand new, so after a little breaking in, it'll probably be fine. That said, it's super comfy and super sturdy. No creaking, no wobble, no tilt, no shakiness whatsoever. This thing is built like a tank. For me, this is likely to be a perfect chair. That said, if it turns to dust after a month of use, I'll come back and update my review... If you see no update, then I'm probably still very happily just chillin' in this chair. EDIT: Just FYI, I bought this chair at $290. I came back today to look at potentially buying another one, but the price at the time of this edit is nearly double at $563. Not sure what's going on there, but while I think this is an excellent chair, I'd keep looking at that price. It's way more than other comparable models out there. ... show more

I'm a big guy at 6'2" but at its highest setting even my feet dangle without touching the floor. It's been said by other reviewers and can't be overstated enough that this is a giant chair. I feel like a gargoyle perched up on a ledge sitting on this thing. Anyhow, assembly is a six-step breeze with all necessary materials included in the box. From start to finish it took about 15 minutes, and there was never a moment of confusion. The chair itself is very comfortable with its mesh back and adjustable lumbar support. This office chair is specifically made for "BIG" guys like me. The overall dimensions are more than appropriate for extra large people, and is very comfortable after long hours of use. The swing up arms are versatile for an extra touch of support. This chair is BUILT for people that weigh in excess of 350 lbs. HEAVY DUTY construction with large pneumatic cylinders. This is the best office chair, hands down, I have ever owned. I have purchased many big and tall chairs through the years, and this one by far is the most comfortable and supportive. Pros ----- Comfort Modern look Well made Cons ----- I just needed a bit of help putting it together.. the parts are well made and a bit heavy! Overall I would repurchase this chair. However, the price does fluctuate, so keep it in your cart. I bought it for 479$, and I have seen it drop down as low as 379$, I believe, and currently, as I'm writing this review, it's 563$. So, if you are in the market for a big and tall chair that can hold a big person, keep an eye on this one and watch for a good price. ... show more

Unfortunately, I did not have the wonderful experience that others had with this chair regarding assembly. I was so excited to receive this chair, I got all the required pieces & the assembly was going well at first. But then,....I'm sad to say that I had a huge problem. I was able to connect the back of the chair to the arm with no problem on one side. But the insert on the other side of the chair back would not fit into the notch of the arm bracket on the other side; it was too big! Not being able to insert that side meant the holes for screws wouldn't align & they couldn't be screwed in. So the back of the chair is only attached on one side. Which is terrible. Can't believe this manufacturing error! Quality control for this company is awful. ... show more
