Capacity Black Leather Executive Swivel Chair with Lumbar Support Knob Finally, I have found a desk chair that meets all of my needs! I am 6'5" tall and weight 285 pounds. I have been using a large desk chair purchased from Staples which, like almost all desk chairs with arms, has one important drawback that became more apparent the more that I used that chair. It lacked adjustable chair arms. There was no way for me comfortably to avoid using the arms of that chair to rest my arms, with the consequence that I developed aches in my arms and shoulders from their being pushed unnaturally upwards; that pain often carried over and impeded my sound sleep in bed. The new Hercules chair solves that problem well! ADJUSTABLE CHAIR ARMS. The Hercules chair arms can be raised or lowered up to 3 inches by pressing a button on each arm. Additionally, each arm can be moved inward or outward to a degree by repositioning the chair arm bracket that joins the chair arm to the seat bottom of the chair. By setting the chair arms at their most outward position, I found that I could drop my arms to rest comfortably on my thighs while alternatively also permitting easy use of the chair arms. The tops of the chair arms are lightly padded, four inches wide and slightly concave, providing comfortable and stable arm support. It is unlikely that the resilient coating of the chair arm pads will ever wear out, unlike the vinyl-covered arm pads of the chair that I am replacing, which pads began to crack with use and needed replacement. STABILITY. The Hercules chair feels exceptionally solid and secure. Despite the chair's larger dimensions, the five legs are each no longer than the five legs of the chair that I am replacing (12 inches). Therefore, I can continue to use the same 45" x 53" chair mat that I have been using. The chair rolls smoothly on the mat. Although the chair does not recline, the back of the chair can be tilted backward slightly with applied effort. LUMBAR SUPPORT. The Hercules chair provides firm and comfortable lumbar support. Additional support can be obtained by turning a control knob on the side of the chair. I find that the minimal setting provides the most comfort. SOME CHAIR DIMENSIONS: Depth of seat from front to back: 21.5" Width of seat at the point between the chair arms: 24.5" Height of chair back measured from the back of seat: 26.5" Maximum distance between the chair arms: 25" Maximum height of chair seat from the floor: 24" GENERAL EVALUATION. I am finding the Hercules to be a most comfortable and supportive desk chair. Although large, the chair is sleek and attractive. It appears to be constructed of high quality and durable components. One reviewer has questioned whether the chair, which is advertised as being covered in leather, is in fact covered with leather rather than vinyl. Upon close examination, I cannot say that the covering is not made of leather, and I tend to doubt whether it would be falsely so labeled. Arrived on time and in good shape. Very nice chair lot more room than I expected. I Am a large man and almost live in the chair watching TV and working on the computer. I weigh 350 lbs. have cancer not much else I can do so I spend my day in the chair. I love the head rest especially with a little cushion over it, the chair raises up real high and lowers real good the lumbar control works, the tilt is a little stiff but works. The only reason I did not give it a 5-star rating is that right in the center of the seat it is too firm ( it is a hard bump) for me to be comfortable I don"t know if it is a lack of enough padding are what. Update Jan 11 2023 I have Had the chair for about 18 months ant the seat seam pulled away (I am under 300 lbs) to reveal the PU fabric it is made from. You are being lied to and paying for leather - you are not getting! I am very PO'd about that ship* I could have bought 2 lower priced - not leather chairs for the same price. Rip me off - I am retired, I have all the time in the world to let it be known. Good Day! *Not really what I wanted to express! At under 5'8" and 285lbs, short legs, and a long upper body, I have struggled to find a comfortable chair most of my adult life. Found it! I am older now, over 60, and spend 10 to 14 hours a day in a chair, including gaming (my adult daycare??). Just got this chair this morning. Box and all parts are in good order. Put it together by myself in about half an hour and I can tell by the quality of the materials and design, this is a well-made product. Well thought-out and great attention to detail. The armrests raise up far enough to support my forearms for my long torso and made my day and one more reason to write about this right away. Do you know how long I have wanted this? OMG! Oh My Garsh! Yes, That Long! I may send chocolates... Come February. My feet still rest flat on the ground with enough lift height (if I wanted) to make it so I cannot get my legs under my desk (for all you tall skinny people I am guessing! (Wink)) Tilting back to relax, is so great! Most chairs I do so with great caution, as I am a top-heavy kind of guy. No worries here, very secure feeling, and adjustable tension on the tilt mechanism, as well as a lock to prevent tilting if you should you be loony enough to not want to kick back and take a break. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. P.S. Do you have any information on replacement armrests? (I tend to be very hard on them) I would love to order a set to have on hand, Thank you! 3-9-2021 I don't think I'll need those armrest replacements, not a sign of wear yet - and just a comfortable as day one! with almost constant use. Pretty comfortable chair. It's wide and has been used a lot since I bought it in dec 2014. I am a photographer so I'm in my chair a lot of the time editing images and other things tied to my business. This chair saw a heavily work load. With that Beijing said recently it started to get a wobble in the base few months ago, like my last chair it's the start of metal breaking. I'm around 330 lb so I'm way under the chair limit. As of 6/2016 it still wobbles but has not broken yet or feels like its going to give out. It is a very comfy chair though. On side note I am 5-11 and I ended up taking the casters out of the legs because it seem to tall for my legs. Once I removed the casters my feet sat flat and legs relaxed. If the chair base wasn't starting to give out I'd give it 5 stars. UPDATE: Its 1/14/19 and I still have the chair. The wobble has gotten a little worse but its only to one side, and you only notice it when you lean hard that way. I bought this chair Dec 2015. The padding has broken down some and the arm rest have cracked, but I got a lot of use out of this chair in the last 3+ years. Will purchase a second one in the up coming months. ... show more
