Good chair for the price, but I think it could be a GREAT chair if: 1. The butt is about 2 inches too high. It feels like the seat is sloped forward and sitting in it is kinda wired. I shoved a long piece of 1" black plumbing pipe as leverage to bend the butt area down, and it feels SO MUCH better after the adjustment. 2 the seat padding is very low density, and crushes on your weight instead of supporting your weight. I'd recommend a gel cushion, but the problem is it made the seat height too tall. Back mesh is supportive even in the lumbar area and does the job well for back comfort. 3. Put more fiber reinforcement in your platic injection molded parts. The low fiber content of the plastic makes it too bendy. To the OEM:. Spend 5 more bucks on this chair and refine these points and you will have a winner. ... show more

EDIT: Does seem that I may have installed the base backwards which is my mistake. However, the instructions were not clear and this could easily have been designed in a way to make this not possible to install backwards. It also was missing a plastic nub that would have caused it to not sit flat on the floor. So regardless of my mistake, I still say your money is better spent elsewhere. —- I bought this chair specifically because my house sags, so spinning chairs make me spin into a corner unless I'm constantly pushing against it. I thought this would be a great fix and was very excited to receive it. Unfortunately this chair just isn't comfortable. It leans very far forward and feels like you're going to slide out of it. I ended up taking off the protective nubs on the bottom that stabilize it to try and fix this, and it did help a little, but it's still an issue unfortunately. This chair also expects you to sit at a perfect 90 degree angle, or maybe even hunched forward a bit. I knew ahead of time it probably wouldn't lean back, but didn't expect that I would have to sit perfectly straight or lean forward. Overall I'm very unimpressed and debating if it's possible to modify it, or if I should just return the thing and try a different chair. I definitely wouldn't recommend this, and honestly, I suspect even the version that rolls probably isn't that comfortable either compared to similar chairs at a similar price. ... show more

I bought this chair because I just installed a tile floor in my office and I was fearful of the current desk chair with casters sliding and me sliding to the floor. I was an ergonomist for many years, so I was very skeptical of buying sight unseen and sitting untried. Overall I like the chair. It’s sturdy and I love that the handles can go up. I bought this in case the chair didn’t fit under my desk but it does so I probably won’t use the moveable arm rests much. Assembly was a little tricky and definitely a two person project but it only took about 20 minutes. It’s stable and very comfortable to sit in for hours at a time. I guess the pro assembly is justified by the fact they don't give you screws or instructions on how to assemble the chair. Luckily I had hardware at home, but even so it was a real pain figuring out length of screws needed and which size. I love this chair. I bought the one without wheels. I can sit for long periods of time with any fatigue at all. I loved it so much that I purchased a 2nd one for my bedroom where I sometimes go on line or play games. The base is perfect and leaves no marks on my rug. If I were to use it in a room without a rug, such as my kitchen I would simply add some felt pads as I have done with other chairs to avoid marks. The arms flip up and make getting up or sitting down a cinch. Easy and quick to assemble. Nice back support and no sweating or sticking. I noticed it's available with a non fabric seat and that one may not provide the same comfort as this one. I love this chair! I wanted a nice desk chair but without wheels so it won’t tear up my hardwood floors. This one is very comfortable with great back support, and the flip up arm rests make it very easy to get in and out plus they allow me to push the chair all the way under the desk at the end of the day. You don't really need a swivel chair all the time, do you? The extra mechanisms are a failure point, and a weak point if you are big. You have to spend much more for one that will really last and not go wonky.
