This has been very useful for yard work, not the rooftop stuff. The flame produced is strong, large, and tuneable, at least to a degree; however, you'll need to get a feel for heavy you can pull the trigger without blowing out the flame. This weed burner is awesome! Almost too much with 500,000 BTU, I could have gotten away with a less powerful one but go big or go home right!? Kills weeds! Makes the chore much more fun! works like a champ, just watch anything that could catch fire!

I had ordered a cheaper flamethrower before. I was so disappointed in it when I used it. I've knew Flame Kings were more expensive, but I took a chance on it and I got to say, this is exactly what I wanted. I have a rock yard in Arizona. The weed barrier is totally gone, and I really didn't want to put in a new weed barrier. I tried using vinegar, dish soap, and salt to treat the grasses in my yard. While it did supress the grass, the grass was resilient. It really got out of control with all the rain we've had. I've successfully burt every weed in the back and the yard looks better. I feel very confident I'll be able to stay on top of any growths in the future. One tip I've learned in Arizona, keep your propane tanks in the sun to get them warmed up. When they are heated up, you will get a consistent flame output. I noticed a huge difference (by observation) that if I had my tanks in the sun, then started to use it, I got way more flame output. With what I had left in my propane tank, I was able to torch all of my the grass and weeds in the back yard. I'm super happy with this product. I do agree with other users, it would be nice to have a little more control via the gas handle, but I'm not going to complain because now I don't have to wory about the grass in my yard and I can focus on other things that need to be done. ... show more

Item was to come with a flint striker. No flint striker in the box. Also no instructions or paperwork of any kind. It seems I may have been sent a returned item. Other than the issues stated, the devise works as advertised.
