    • Removes weeds instantly - but pay attention!
Ok, this thing is legit! Easy to plug into a standard propane gas grill bottle. 10' hose lets you have some room tow work without have to keep moving the bottle (although I may buy a cheap cart to strap it to). This thing is like a small flame-thrower and sounds a bit like a jet engine. I burned off some moss and weeds growing in the driveway as well as weeds growing up thru the crushed stones around the foundation the house. Also used it for a large area of dirt that had been overtaken by weeds near the fire pit - worked amazing. You can turn down the gas flow a little and not squeeze the handle all the way so a bit less flame comes out. You could easily start a brush/grass fire with this thing. I used it when the winds were calm and one day AFTER a heavy rain so that the surrounding area was very wet to lesson any chance of smoldering embers or underground fire spreading where I didnt want it. I'm impressed. It's also made very sturdy. Love the fact I'm not using chemicals. Great value for the money. ... show more

I had ordered a cheaper flamethrower before. I was so disappointed in it when I used it. I've knew Flame Kings were more expensive, but I took a chance on it and I got to say, this is exactly what I wanted. I have a rock yard in Arizona. The weed barrier is totally gone, and I really didn't want to put in a new weed barrier. I tried using vinegar, dish soap, and salt to treat the grasses in my yard. While it did supress the grass, the grass was resilient. It really got out of control with all the rain we've had. I've successfully burt every weed in the back and the yard looks better. I feel very confident I'll be able to stay on top of any growths in the future. One tip I've learned in Arizona, keep your propane tanks in the sun to get them warmed up. When they are heated up, you will get a consistent flame output. I noticed a huge difference (by observation) that if I had my tanks in the sun, then started to use it, I got way more flame output. With what I had left in my propane tank, I was able to torch all of my the grass and weeds in the back yard. I'm super happy with this product. I do agree with other users, it would be nice to have a little more control via the gas handle, but I'm not going to complain because now I don't have to wory about the grass in my yard and I can focus on other things that need to be done. ... show more

    • Very Touchy Controls But Works Well
This was the top rated weed burner by the Amazon panel of experts. It works but has some issues. The biggest drawback is trying to keep the standby flame lit. It stays lit for several minutes of operation then goes out, Usually on shut down after a high burn rate. The main burner control lever is really touchy and goes from off to full burn in just a few degrees of lever action. Not being able to step down the burn rate I think is what snuffs out the standby pilot flame. There are no real detailed instructions provide, just some very generic stuff. After several hours use and fiddling with adjust the propane pressure at the tank and the main valve on the weed burner I was unable to find a setting that would permit continuous use with the pilot flame going out every minute of less. If you purchase this, it comes with one spark ignitor but you better buy two more as you will find yourself using it all the time. Yes it burns the weeds but at full blast it also blows them away like a jet engine. Anything dead and dry nearby will ignite long before the green weeds will be killed so be aware, ... show more

This is my 3rd flame thrower and I believe to to be the best one yet. I like the welded head because the 1st one fell apart and ultimately the head actually melted. The next one was from Harbor Frieght and it would go out periodically when in operation and was too short. It also required a Wrench to attach it to the bottle. I also do not like the ones with an ignighter because my first one by the head melted as the head gets HOOOOOT. Update: I discovered the initial letting is a Pilot-light only You must hold down the spring loaded handle to get it putting out the max heat. I am also having problems keeping it lit! This is turning into a problem and may result of the item! Some times I have to light it 10 times in a row which I never had issues with my first one. I am going to try pre-heating it with the Pilot, (Preheating did not help) ... show more

    • Yes it destroys weeds but it's fun too!
This is a big boy torch. It's loud, hot and cool! I'll be using it to control weeds from now on. Once you get used to how it works, you can aim it just so and burn weeds without destroying the grassline. It actually edged the grass at the concrete edge. The gas control is a little wonky but after a bit of use, it works okay. Don't forget to shut off the gas at the tank or you may find a tiny gas leak drained all your gas in storage. Don't even think about using a small container. You will need a gas grill type of propane tank for this bad boy. The tank gets quite cool as you use it. That gives an indication of just how much gas you are using. But who cares! ... show more

This works GREAT!!! Easy hook up and was able to light easy and do exactly what I needed. It’s pretty light and even when burning for probably 20+ min still felt like I had a lot of propane left. Seems to have great burn time as well. Great length as well as not taking up much space when storing it away after. It got rid of the weeds easily and seems to keep them away as well. ... show more

This thing is, well, its a lot of fun to use. Yes this is not a toy, but it brings out the kid in you burning stuff. Now, first off, it lights easy, burns HOT, and using a larger propane tank (Like for a grill) last quite awhile. Meaning maybe a few hours at full throttle. Things to known about using this torch. It will indeed clear your driveway of weeds, BUT it will not kill them and they will just grow back. Best idea is to burn them, then follow up with weed killer to prevent regrowth. Otherwise your wasting your time. Great to start bonfires, clear out ant hills, and just feeling like a badass in general. I recommend, with the aforementioned note that it doesn't rid you of grass long term. BUY ONE! ... show more
