This worked fantastic but today I went to put a new blade in it and it literally fell apart in my hand and I noticed the little thin washer piece is badly bent. The cutter hasn't been dropped or mis-used so I guess that piece is just not hefty enough for daily use. Fortunately when my mom passed I inherited all her sewing gear so I was able to proceed with my project using her cutter. ... show more

I love the safety features on this rotary cutter. For one, there is a cover over the top of the blade that protects your fingers and only exposes the blade on the bottom for cutting. For another, the loop over the handle prevents your hand from slipping down to the cutting area if you press hard. As far as using it for cutting, it cuts well as long as the blade is sharp. I dislike the wand-type rotary cutters since they do not have these safety features and expose a lot of cutting edge. ... show more

Love it overall - enjoying using it. Only downside is that I would have liked the nut that tightens the blade to have been made of something more steadier than plastic. It feels as if it could break at any moment with enough pressure. Also, it would be nice if the cutter came with a few extra blades for replacement.
