This tailor’s chalk works perfectly for marking fabric. The lines come out crisp and visible, but they also brush or wash away easily without leaving stains. The shape fits comfortably in my hand, and it doesn’t crumble too quickly like cheaper brands I’ve tried. I’ve used it on cotton, denim, and even delicate fabrics, and it performed well every time. It’s a must-have for sewing, quilting, and other fabric projects. Reliable, clean, and easy to use—exactly what good tailor’s chalk should be!

The chalk is thick and does not break easily. The pencils are very short. The pens you have to put together and not as I was expecting it to be. The pencil sharpener seems fine.

What a great fabric marking set! It is everything you need for marking fabric for sewing projects. The tailor's chalk has 10 pieces - 2 red and yellow and 3 blue and white - and are well made (no crumbling or flaking). They wash out of fabric with the first wash. The marking pens are my favorite and come with an extra refill for each color (red, blue, white and black) but, be aware, the white ink will not show up on the fabric until it is dry. So, don't freak out if you mark your fabric with it and don't see anything immediately. Give it a few seconds to dry. These pens are are "heat erase". So, don't be surprised if the mark is gone after you press your fabric. The small fabric pencils are okay. Not going to lie, the material used for marking is a bit hard and, although it will leave color behind, the marks tend to be very faint. I tried "softening" the tip with a flame (the way you might with eyeliner) and it worked for a mark or two, but the pencil would have to be softened again for the next mark. I opted to just use those to mark my patterns instead. All in all, this is good purchase for the price since you get several different types of fabric marking tools for your money. This is a good "starting set" for the new sewing hobbyist. It covers all the bases and won't break the bank doing it.

I received this set yesterday and tested every item on a pice of fabric. One refill (red) and one pencil (pink) don't work (don't leave a trace on a fabric), and one chalk arrived broken. I am keeping this item because it is still a good deal, but you are getting much less than listed, for your money. I am going to use refills without placing them into their pens. The refills would dry out much faster when placed inside the pens because you have to remove the refills caps in order to place them in the pens. I am just starting sewing and need to choose the best tool for me. My advice: this set is OK for beginners who don't yet know what tool (chalk or pencil etc.) they prefer. If you have preferred way to mark fabrics, buy something else.
