I have a tendency to be a little heavy-handed when using pens and pencils, so I have to be careful with these as they are quite thin. They feel a little fragile when I use them, but so far, no issues. I like that they are a good quality - they provide a nice line and erase easily enough if you make a mistake. I’m an experienced sewist and love this marking chalk. It shows up well but be careful to not hold it too high up. Because there’s probably no wax in its composition and it’s thin, it breaks easily. That’s my only complaint but I can still get the job done and I like it much better than the most common brand you find in fabric and craft stores. ... show more

Received in pretty good shape. Only 1 was broken. (Have sandpaper, not an issue) These are pretty thin. If you're heavy handed, you may go through these kinda fast. If you are heavy handed, they are prone to breakage due to thinness. Happily, you get a few in each color. I like the fine line the thin chalk gives and as previously stated, I have sandpaper to fix my breaks. Overall, I've had better quality, but for the money, I workaround the cons. ... show more

People keep saying that this is flimsy and break easy. I don’t know what she hulk powers these people are using. It’s chalk. Chalk is not as strong as a plastic encased marker. Nevertheless unless you lack muscle control I don’t see how you are breaking it. I still haven’t broken any and I call myself being rough with it. It’s easy to clean up and it helps me see what I’m doing which has been really helpful in seeing straight. ... show more

I love the variety in colors. I love the collection as a whole. I did not like that the chalk breaks with slight pressure. I love the ease of the container, but did not like the slight difficulty in getting it opened.

I have been a sewist for something like 55 years and never used chalk. I suggested this as a stocking stuffer to my husband this Christmas, and I can't believe how useful it is and I can't believe I've only just now discovered it. The chalk stays on long enough to do its job, but can be dusted off or, at worst, run through the washing machine to get rid of it. There are enough colors so that there is a perfect one for any color of fabric. The chalk is very thin which makes it easy to make accurate marks; however, that means it is also very brittle, so you have to kind of handle it with care. I also use it on the wall when marking places to put pictures -- no more pencil marks that are difficult to get rid of -- you just wipe off the chalk, or worse case, wet a small rag and rinse it off. I love this chalk- works really well with black fabric with is primarily what I bought it for. The case although thin is very good. I accidently dropped the chalk today and all the pieces stayed intact. Thanks!
