Description

Using scissors to cut through tough stuff like plastic packaging is no fun, especially when you suffer from hands that fatigue quickly. Not only was the ZipSnip Cutting Tool designed to do all the jobs that scissors can’t, but it also makes everyday cutting jobs that much easier. Its self-sharpening blade slices right through cardboard, so it’s an excellent tool for taking out the recyclables. It even glides through rubber and leather, so it’s an indispensable implement for crafting and/or DIY projects. It’s precise, much more so than scissors, and has a lot more power behind it than a utility knife. It’s perfect for opening heavy bags like pet food, seed, or fertilizer without spilling because you don’t need a lot of motion to use it, like with knives and scissors. It has a soft grip, so it’s comfortable to use, and the compact design only weighs 1 pound. The lockout switch prevents accidental starts. And it’ll hold a charge for months, so you can keep it in a kitchen drawer and it’ll be ready to go whenever you need it. A charger is included, so you can refill the 4v battery whenever the on-board charge light lets you know it’s time. And it’s great for outdoor use— keep one in the garage or shed and use it for detailed landscaping. The rake was a handy tool until the leaf blower came along. And scissors were nice before the invention of the ZipSnip. Give your hands a break, get a ZipSnip. Status indicator lets you know when the battery is fully charged.

  • Great gadget for everyday use
Style: 4V Zipsnip (2 Blades & Storage Bag i...
Works as seen in the videos. Makes breaking down boxes for the recycling bin so much easier and quicker. I have found other uses too like plastic packaging. I would hurt my hand trying to cut some of those packages with regular scissors. I had to charge it before use and it did take some hours, but I've used it quite a few times since then and it's still running strong. I'm happy with it. ... show more

  • These are fantastic!
Style: 4V Zipsnip (2 Blades & Storage Bag i...
If you're here, you probably buy a lot from Amazon. I got so tired of tearing down or trying to cut the boxes my orders came in ...then I found these. Problem solved. I have other heavy-duty shears and box cutters, but these electric scissors are the best for quickly cutting down boxes so they fit in the recycle bin. What I like: 1) they are reasonably heavy-duty and cut boxes quickly 2) they operate smoothly, with few stutters getting through cardboard 3) being electric, they are easy to use and prevent hand fatigue 3) I LOVE that they are cordless, making them 100x easier to use than a corded version 4) they recharge quickly with the included charger 5) they come with a pouch included, keeping the charger with the tool in one place so I don't have to constantly hunt for the charger 6) they can be used for a wide variety of cutting tasks 7) they come with two additional blades I have several other Worx tools and have been very satisfied with all of them. That gave me confidence that these would also be good quality. I generally dislike having tools that are useful for only one purpose, but I get enough boxes from Amazon that it would be worth it if I only used them for that. The bonus is, they are useful for many other activities. In summary, these scissors are good quality, powerful for a variety of tasks, and VERY easy to use. Definitely Five Stars and I highly recommend them. ... show more

  • Hard to make straight cuts
Style: 4V Zipsnip (2 Blades & Storage Bag i...
This cutter will not work for left handers. Luckily I am not left handed but my mom is and she can't use it. I have tendinitis in both my wrists. I like to craft boxes out of cardboard and so I can't cut with a ruler and box cutter very much without a great deal of pain. I can only use my wrists to make a few cuts a day and it takes a long time to finish a project. So I thought I might try this. I realized right away that I can't score cardboard with this cutter which was sad but not unexpected. It is very easy to cut through boxes and the safety button doesn't hurt my wrists. It's not too big or heavy and I can hold onto it easily. Which I like. Because it buzzes and bucks I do have to use a certain amount of hand strength to hold everything steady so I can injure my wrists with overwork with this cutter if I am not careful. Getting a straight cut is a bit tricky but it is possible. First and foremost I have found it best to make thick black lines to mark where the cut is intended, that is easy to see in all lights. A permanent black marker works best. Second it is important to know where the blade is in relation to the cardboard. I can see best from the side, both the blade and the cardboard line at the same time. I can also use the line on top of the cutter where two pieces of different colored plastic meet but it's not as accurate. I get the best line if I am only cutting half an inch of box off because the cardboard won't push on the side of the cutter. But it is possible with large pieces too I just have to be really careful. Even with all that I can't cut as accurately as I can with a box cutter and ruler. It's good enough for the most part and now I can cut more like twenty slices a day instead of only six. Which is nice. It has a good charge. It runs out of juice in a weird way though and will stall while cutting which can be a problem. All in all I do like this cutter and it has made making projects easier for me. ... show more

  • Worx 4v ZipSnip Rechargeable Scissors
Style: 4V Zipsnip (1 Blade included)
DISLIKES: Recharge time, to recharge after a good usage of the tool requires 5 hours to a full charge before you can get working again, that is with the default adapter{charger) that comes with it, which is 6V 400mA. This also depends on the amperage of your charger, I have found chargers with a 2Amp up to 5Amp charge things faster, and can cut your recharge cycle down quite a bit, 2 Amp usually about 2-1/2 to 3 1/2 hours, a 5 Amp charger can reduce this down to anywhere from 30 minutes, to not usually more than 2 hours{if that} for a full recharge. I have numerous adapters with a wide variety of voltages and ratings, always USE a charger/adapter with the correct voltage, in this case 6V, but the amperage is what makes the difference in how fast it will recharge. LIKES: Rechargeable, cuts through many different materials smoothly and easily. Self Sharpening blade, so longer use of the cutting blade before having to possibly replace the circular blade. I wouldn't actually call this tool electric scissors, it's more like a sub-miniature hand-held circular saw. I purchased this tool initially for cutting out old carpeting from my home, it cuts through the carpet like a hot knife would cut through a stick of butter. Not only that, but I have also used this tool to cut down my Amazon Delivery boxes for easy removal, some boxes that may have a very thick form, it will cut them, but it's a little harder to get the tool through those, but most standard boxes, it makes short work of them, cutting them down to small square sections in less time than it does to break them down by hand and cut them down with a standard pair of scissor. My wife cut down a box of the same size using scissors, and I was using the tool, I had completed the complete cut-down of my box, same exact size as here, in less than 5 minutes, while she was still struggling to get her box cut down to size for the trash bag, her box was still over 70% intact, I cut down various size boxes, a total of 15 boxes from medium to very large, in the time it took her to cut down the one box she was working on. I have used the tool to cut Coroplast, thin plexiglass, this plastic sheeting, and very thin wood molding for interior door frames, when the tool started slowing down and cutting became more difficult, I knew it was either time to recharge the tool, or sometimes just hold the tool, not cutting anything, hold in the safety button in and power button, to allow the tool to run with no cutting, this will resharpen the blade, and if the tool still has enough of a charge, continue cutting until it bogs down, then a simple recharge takes care of that. Just about anything you cut with a pair of sharp scissors, this tool would probably cut as well. Yes, I can recommend this tool, it's a great tool to have in your arsenal of home improvement and cleanup tools. It will definitely help you get the job down much faster than a manual cutting tool for many different materials, which makes it an indispensable, versatile, and worthy tool to have. ... show more
