  • So light, fast and accurate my wife took mine and I had to buy another.
Wow, light, doesn’t tire the arm, easy swing, and fast. Read the manual, if you have used others don’t think you know it all.. watched You Tube videos of comparisons to others and demonstrators did not real good results. I read my manual and discovers why. The Fisher F75 is very accurate and reads dimes to 18 inches in good soil, BUT you have to swing wide and fast. Don’t hover over a target in indecision. Swing shoulder wide, be aggressive, trust the machine. It can handle its circuitry is made tor this. You will be amazed at the ground you will cover especially if you set the F75 properly. It set to work out of the box for newbies. Experienced detectorists, without F75 experience, will find they need to change their search methods as described in the owners manual. Take the time to read it, you will be pleasantly surprised. This thing is very light and easy to swing. My 119 pound 5’2” wife liked it so much I had to buy another one for me. At 73, after forty years of marriage we have a new hobby that gets us good excerxise, fresh air and fun times together. ... show more

  • So pleased I bought this!
I am very pleased with this F75! I've only got a few hours in running it, and am decidedly low on the learning curve yet, but already it is beating my other detectors by far! I'm getting clearer to understand signals on what is in the ground before digging, even an indication on how deep it likely is. I really liked the compact light weight of my Tesoro Vaquero, but my hearing is worsening and I'm missing some of the cues it gives through the sounds it makes, even with headphones. I was getting discouraged with metal detecting. A friend that is responsible for my being in this hobby shot me a SMS of this detector being on sale for $559. I remember how impressed I was a couple years back when seeing how successful a user was in Cobalt Ontario on the silver mine tailings. He was by-passing nicklean and cobalt and digging silver much much better than we were. Being local and having decades of experience helps, but his machine really gave him the edge. I googled his machine but balked at the ~$1200 price then. Seeing it $559 I pounced on it! No regrets at all! I've already dug dimes at 10", nickles at 7" and learned to be pretty darn sure of zinc pennies (but hear great targets can also read as zinc so I dig em). I've only had noise issues under massive power lines on a ripped up road that wasn't producing more than junk anyway so I'm giving it a 5 star score anyway. My buddy's Makro Racer is too sensitive to be used in town at all. I brought the F75 over to his yard and found stuff he couldn't. So seeing that I had a hotter machine, he bought a Minelab 4500. Still can't use it in his yard but I bet he digs more silver than I next week! I will likely keep this one forever, but am looking for a dedicated gold machine if I can get my buddy to head west towards gold instead of east toward copper and silver. I'll likely move on from the Vaquero if I can't lower the frequency (there are factory mods to raise the tones). Oh, for me one of the best aspects of the Fisher F75 is adjustability of the audio tone range!!!!! If your hearing is compromised, it is a fantastic aid. All the other wonderful features, like the visual display running in Discrimination mode while the spearker is in all-metal is just brilliant! My ears will hear it all, the tones will tell me whether ferrous or not and the display will tell me what it likely is. Nothing is perfect but this gives me so much more information, and fast easy variation from a flat menu structure, that I'm super pleased. All the reviews I've read/viewed on it have been very good too, even at the old high price. One may wonder if Fisher is just lowering the price to gain volume or if they've got a better machine in the pipeline, but that doesn't matter. It is a superb value just now and if you want a really fine multi-purpose detector with useful features, you could search more but not find better especially at this lowered price! Jump on one while you can, you'll be hard pressed to find anything to regret! Happy hunting! ... show more

  • That can be good and bad as it means a bit of work ...
I am steadily getting the hang of this detector. Amazingly, I have found that it detects small bits of gold. That can be good and bad as it means a bit of work for a small bit of gold, but there is no doubt that when and if I come across larger pieces that this detector is going to find them. The price when it was on sale made this a great buy. ... show more

  • Best metal detector ever
Best metal detector ever ... Of course I believe that .. I have to, what else can I tell my wife after spending $600 ?? Oh, and also why I had to buy the F75 when I already own the F70. Is one better than the other? They are very similar and very difference .. the F75 seems a couple of inches deeper .. that is what it seems to me .. also, the F70 is a bottle cap magnet ... Something that is dealt with by personal experimenting but still you end up digging, cause the sound is just too good at times. The F75 has a BC mode, and while not perfect it is quite good. The settings a very easy to use, better than I thought would be the case. Yes, the F70 is very simple, for so complicated devices, as well. The F75 Hase a back lite panel and I love the as I do a lot of early morning hunts. Also, I bought my F70 nearly 6 years ago .. out of warranty .. I actually paid $150 less for the F75 than the F70 ... Also, this is the Special Edition with the New DST circuitry to combat EMT static ... That chirping and annoying clicking and false signals experienced when hunting in an area with high power lines, above and below ground. Loving both machines, now i am back under warranty and have a nice backup machine. Final word. The supplier was quick delivery and answered my pre-buy questions promptly. I would buy from them again. UPDATE: 05-11-2017 -- Searching areas already searched out (?) finding more coins. Operation is very similar to the F70 but with the prices on the NEW DST F75 having dropped I would suggest buying this model $500? A no brainer. The one complaint I have is that the grip on the handle is "foam" and it gets messy real fast and is impossible to clean. If you ever work a muddy field you grip will look like crap and when it dries out it will look like real crap. I had some experience with this type of grip on my F70 ad F2, same cheap water absorbing foam grips. On my F70 I cut the grip off and remodeled it with a 1/2" PVC pipe, a couple of screws and some black duct tape -- made It more like a pistol grip and not it is water proof and feels much better. Knowing this one irritating fact and seeing my new F75 with the pistol grip style it was still wrapped in this cheap foam. I had a roll of 2" heavy duty Electrical tape that I wrapped around this foam handle and it worked perfect, and I actually like the feel of it. Maybe Fisher will put a nice rubber handle on these one day? Small problem, easy solution. Advice -- I would not use the standard 1" or 3/4" plastic electrical tape -- I have seen this done and it is not long before that tape comes loose and looks terrible and it is still allows water to dampen the sponge grip. If you can find the heavier plastic tape wide enough so you can overlap for a good seal and remember not to pull the tape tight as it will compress the sponge grip and you will lose that nice pistol grip shape. ... show more

  • One of the best on the market
The Fisher F75 is a well-built detector, and identifies deep targets with accuracy. The variable modes make it easy to adapt to different types of soil and metals.
