I purchased this to help with chopping kindling and it hasn’t disappointed. It’s made it so much easier and quicker. It’s so small to be used for larger log splitting, but I doubt anyone would purchase it with that intent. Very easy to use even for my kids and I don’t worry about them chopping something that shouldn’t be chopped when I send them out for kindling. Very happy with this purchase!

With the description of this item being "XL" and the measurements of the inside of the top ring being 8.7 inches. I expected it to be able to handle a 8 inch log. An 8 inch log fits into the device but because it is so short of a distance from the blade to the top ring there is no room for the log to split. This is my fault for making assumptions so I intend to keep the device because it is actually great for splitting smaller logs and sub-splitting larger logs that have been split at least once by an axe. Lesson learned, good product just a lot smaller than it appears in the pictures.
